Something I have not seen is comparing this album to the Wall, which I would say is undeniably the greatest concept albums ever.
But I was just thinking earlier about this song and realized how similar this song and "The Trial" are to each other. They both are the climax of the album. They show the struggle of a man ending and them realizing that they are their own antagonist holding themselves back. That's all the thinking I am able to do right now, but I will return later with more of my thoughts once my mind has rested and I can think clearly again. I hope this sheds some light on the subject a little more.
