Just some thoughts.
When a civilization begins to identify colors (and becomes more complex), they begin with just black and white. As they "progress" red, yellow, green, brown are added in that order.
This leads me to believe that the lyrics point to the parallel between a complex society and the individuals it produces.
"overthinking, overanalyzing separates the body from the mind"
clearly illustrates a need to rid ourselves of the extraneous and unecessary, to become more pure (whether it is meant for society as a whole, or just the individual and his/her struggle is unclear.
