I've been reading these days "Weaveworld" by Clive Barker.
i'm really infatuated with it and one of the reasons is that it
feels so much like TOOL.The main "message" in it is that there exist worlds within worlds,and that they are there for us to discover,which is i believe what Lateralus -the song AND the album - is about.Especially the song with its flowing energy from the music,the lyrics and the performance it's like it's urging us to follow this path,find these hidden worlds,overcome our fears,our hesitation,our compromises and become something new.
Perhaps you could say it is an invitation to become the
"Super-man" Nitsche was talking about.Let go of all the human feelings and emotions and trancede to a meta-man
condition,where new rules(if any) apply.Rules that we cannot comprehend in our present state....
