Actually i was kinda disappointed while i was standing in the queue trying to get "inside" eventually. It took the security guards ages for searching everybody from top to toe, in order not to let any cameras in. What i've heard about tool was their punctuality so i was really anxious by the possibility of being the "unpunctual" one and to have to listen to the first songs in the waiting line.

Though i got into the area just 20 or 25 minutes before the show, i found myself in the first row where i could see the whole stage especially Adam Jones really very clearly. The setlist was about the same as in the other countries. And Maynard wasn't talkative. He just said a couple of words including "Hello Turkey" and "Thank you". He was also drinking and sometimes handing the bottle to Justin or Danny. He mentioned about a celebration and trying to make a deal about not mentioning about it :) But i could not hear his words properly since it was difficult to hear him even during the songs. I was kinda lip-reading and thank to my memory about the lyrics, i could sing along.

The laser show and also the visual effects were great. But i could not understand what that plant was doing in the middle of the stage? And i could not understand why they didnt come back to the stage since the crowd went really wild and insisted on clapping and cheering for them to come back at the end of the show.

The show lasted for one and a half hours. It was kinda short, though it was the best show I've ever seen. He didn't say a word about coming back to turkey. I hope we can see them again sometime soon.

And one more thing, they played Flood and Ænema. We sang along saying "water rising up on me" and "I'm praying for rain, and I'm praying for tidal waves"... Just 30 minutes after the show it rained like cats and dogs. We were in the ferry trying to cross the bosphorus, heading back to the asian side of istanbul.

Guess tool is a really handy solution for drought..!

i went to istanbul from izmir for Tool and the whole thing costed me more than 500 bucks, 3 nights on the bus, 30 hours of waiting (except the hours on the bus, only waiting doing nothing) i was at the entrance by 2 and waited until 7.30 and another 2 hours in the frontstage area, and 1.5 hours of running under heavy rain in that city i'm a total stranger in.. i hate istanbul.. anyways.. so, i would do much more.. i'm proud for achieving..

they didn't play the borings ones like wings etc..
i was there for the scream Maynard does in the extended version of Stinkfist (it's a long story)
and i wasn't disappointed..

I was at the front of Justin and when i screamed like Justiin!! he waved at me. lol.

it was a great show.. the whole light-flash-laser thing was fantastic..

just one thing, Maynard's mic was really low so we couldn't hear a thing..

Actually it rained about an hour and a half after the show. As the concert ended, we waited in the area, talked to some friends and then we preferred walking to the sea side in order to cross bosphorus and as you might guess it has been a really long walk in which we also rested for half an hour.

So i assume you also stood still for an hour in which i think you were shocked to make a move out. That's quite understandable cuz the show was a masterpiece.

And also, i got what maynard was celebrating. He was celebrating the last concert in the european tour, which was istanbul by the way. It took me a while and some "What did he say? what did he say?" kind of a consultation to understand that because i could hardly hear Maynard's voice. So Todg, i totally agree about the mic thing.
