nope, i guess its at the palms. i hope i tickets for both nights will be affordable. if not then ill have to choose the second night. save the best for last right?
What's up tDoXoM|? Enjoy the show(s), actually gonna be in Vegas a week before on business, man would love to see one of these shows. Have one (or two) for me!
a bunch of us are gonna be in vegas for spring break (march 15!!) will it even be possible to get tickets for this (especially since were in MN) can anyone help???
Was reading this article about Van Halen coming to Vegas and noticed that nice little word "TOOL" in there so immediately came here to post, when I saw the dates already had a thread. NICE!!! Here's the offending article that got my attention about halfway through:
Van Halen reunion tour to kick off in Las Vegas
A Van Halen reunion tour, with David Lee Roth back in the fold after 22 years, is in the works, with a Las Vegas launch looking good. A late April date at the Palms' new venue, The Pearl, is "99 percent" likely, a source said. It would be the latest coup for Palms owner George Maloof, who will open the 2,500-seat venue with a lineup that includes Tool, Evanescence, Gwen Stefani along with Van Halen, all in the first month. Many critics consider Van Halen the greatest party-metal rock band of all time.
sound should be excellent in this brand new venue since it was designed and built specifically for concerts, not sporting events. will be worth every dollar (or hundreds, I'm sure) to go see them here. I'll be there both nights....can't wait!
My interest is warming up for this show. But yea, what's the deal with tickets? 2500 seats? Tool? Are you shiatin me? Hmm, I am gonna try. But I got a feeling like luck would fall easier on that Thursday date than Friday.
Yeah, I'll be out there that week/weekend on vacation, and I was excited as hell when I heard Tool will be there Thursday and Friday, and then I heard where they're playing only holds 2,500. I'd like to see both shows but looks like I better just concentrate on getting tickets for one!! I'd rather go Friday, but it sounds like that's when everyone wants to go, so maybe it will be easier getting tickets for Thursday.........I'm hoping I can at least see one show!
Anyone interested in going in on a pair of tickets for Friday at $180 per? I know that shit sucks, but it's the best I've found from brokers yet and I only need one.
Anybody as confused as I am about these two shows? There is multiple websites saying that this venue opens 4/21 with Gwen Stefani. This article says this for example and the article was written yesterday. Am I missin something?

I'd pay $180 for two. But tix have not gone on sale yet. So why line up for brokers beforehand? I am not naive or anything and I know that price could end up being right. But unless said broker has tickets in hand, which they don't, I am skeptical.

I know, and you're probably right, but I'd hate to miss this show.

yes i was reading something similar to this. The official PALMS website doesnt state that there will be any shows prior to the one with stefani...well i really want to go and im making plans already...all i need is the tickets...
Living in Vegas and working for the newspaper, I've seen ads and articles that talk about acts playing in March, such as the Evenescense tour (big ad in the paper for tickets going on sale with Palms and Pearl logos on the ad). Whatever Gwen stefani article you read is not correct. I've been seeing things for a few weeks now. Tool will be there at said date.
I heard that they were going to record this show to put on a live DVD...does anyone know more about this?
I'd be willing to bet that we will see some sort of live footage from these shows, The Palms has a recording studio and with this new theater they have the ability to record all the live concerts thru the studio.
Here's a recent link with Danny saying to expect some live DVD's:
From what I've read, Gwen Stefani is still the "official" Grand-Opening show; however, Tool and Evanescence/Chevelle have dates prior to Stefani. I've heard about other venues doing this as well, not necesarily having bands play first to "try-out" the venue, but rather picking one headliner as the so-called "Official" Grand Opening, even if that show isn't actually the very first show played there. Anyways, I'm hoping to get tickets for Vegas........I've already had my trip planned since December, and now that Tool is going to be there makes it even better! Now hopefully we'll be able to get tix through ticketmaster at "face"; otherwise we'll be having to deal with the ticket brokers.......
Actually, the don't exist. Stubhub, like a lot of brokers, has a line in on tickets they know they will get, so they advertise early. But tickets have not been printed yet. And Ticketmaster will almost certainly have them since it's part of the deal when signing a band like Tool to play your venue. At least, that's how I understand it. But worst case scenario is the venue themselves would sell tickets.
Meh- I do the LA-Vegas drive all the time. Piece o cake! Just got to time it right.
Speaking of which- Friday show may seem like the more 'desirable' of the two shows for people going from So CA, but not when you think about it. First, traffic up on a Friday will be an unholy nightmare the likes of which you will be sorry you ever saw. Also, the cost for hotels jumps dramatically between Thursday and Friday nights in Vegas.
So I would say if you are going from So CA just to see Tool, and you are not doing an extended stay in Vegas (just overnight after the show). Then Thursday will be the better choice. Not to mention that getting tickets for Thursday will probably be a bit easier on the wallet.
All this is moot if you are going to both shows though!
i am planning on getting tickets for the 16th which is my bday. also my friend is hookin me up and we are goin on a seven day cruise for 70 dollars. so i will be driving down to las vegas from utah, seeing TOOL, and then flyin out of vegas to puerto rico on the 18. hell yeah, it is my dream vacation. so hopefully i will be able to get tickets to the friday.

the 16th is my bday as well, chiller. it's during the last spring break i'll ever have, so i'm definitely hoping to luck out saturday morning and get some tickets. if so the hunt for the cheapest flights to vegas begins.
Hey, I talked to a lady at The palms today and she said the reason the tickets are not showing on ticketmaster yet is that the show(s) are not set in stone for sure. She wasn't much help except for telling me that. I live in SLC Utah and when they came in Aug there was a big mele in the front and Maynard almost left the stage (he was pissed bad) he told everyone he was leaving unless everyone chilled and at the end of the shoe he didn't say "see ya next (whenever) like he usually does. I HAVE TO GO TO THIS SHOW!!!! Any help u guys can give me for tickets would be greatly appreciated. If they come.
