Lick

I think the "acid" on the front of the Salival booklet is hilarious. Anyone have any thoughts about why it was put there (other than the reasons discussed in the FAQ)?

Patrick.

I have a feeling that Tool put that there just to see how many people they could get to lick their CD case.

Salival? How ironic...

I always wondered what that thing was.

Now, if you'll excuse me... I've got a CD case to lick.

Re: Lick

I've always seen "Salival" as priming us for Lateralus, not unlike the metronome & salivating dog experiments originally used to demonstrate learning in its most simple form. Perhaps this view will provide you with some insight?

Reaching out for a CD

it seems like the hand is reaching out, much like your own hand is, to pick up something, sort of mimicing your own action in picking up the CD box.

You are referring to Pavlov's dog experiments with conditioned stimuli, are you not. Yeah I think the new way the songs are portrayed are a view of the evolution.

And it's sad to say that I am one of those people...

maybe..

since when you're on acid you view the world differently (hallucinations and the like).. so its as if you're taking that "acid" on the cd when you open it up and the cd can change your viewpoint if you open yourself to it

I have not licked the square and dont plan to anytime soon.
I really dont think the record company would want them distibuting acid, and that was released by a while ago. Would the acid still be ok? Sorry if my questionsare dumb but Drugs and I rarely mix.

adam said that the lines comming into his back are creative forces. perhaps the hand is reaching for an exterior source of creativity? goes along the 'sober' theme
