I love the theme of this song. I believe that it pertains to the struggles of a love affair and breaking up and trying to recover with sanity in tact. Of course it could be many other things as most TOOL songs are. The concept of the "bottom" is very deep and could host a thread of its own. It is said that only when you have lost everything are you free to acheive anything. When you reach bottom in life you can either stay there or learn from your mistakes and grow. This song got me thinking about the lowest point in your life and if it is even possible, I mean one persons low point is anothers vacation and how a teenage crush can torture your soul when you are younger but would be no big deal when you are older. It should be the bottom at this point in time.
