suffocate what is mine

i think it is safe to say that at one point, maynard was quite religious. but, like in amny cases, people started forcing their views upon him, and he didn't like that. "take what is mine, hold what is mine, suffocate what is mine" i think that line is saying that everyone around him at that time was just beating all this stuff into his young mind, so much that he began to reject it just to get away from it. any way this is always what i thought this song was "about" let me knwo what you think.
