When you go to the site to download it, it says Mac users will need to download it to their desktop then transfer to your handheld device. I did try to download it to my iPad, and it seemed to work, but I can’t open the file (file not supported) came up.
That being said, I’m not the most computer literate person. If anyone can tell me what I’m doing wrong it would be appreciated.

I bought the album on Amazon with the cheap free shipping and the non prime in the states and both me and my mom got it(two different addresses) yesterday. Originally it said Sept 9 if that helps.

Well that's pretty much the opposite of not being able to download it to a Mac :/
What file type did it download? I don't remember if iOS can extract zips or rars.

I'm guessing they should have phrased the "Mac Device" thing a little different(ly).
It would likely download fine to a "Mac" (MacBook, iMac, MacPro).
I think what they are getting at is that the iDevices (iPhone, iPad, iPod) typically require music files to be loaded via a sync with iTunes from a computer, unless you are downloading them straight from the iTunes music store on your phone, which isn't how these tracks are being delivered.
You can't just add internet downloaded files to the "Music" app on an iPhone/Pad/Pod, as far as I know.
You could probably save them to a location (DropBox, etc.) and play them back with a 3rd party media player. That's how I'm playing the HD Tracks 96/24 version of the album on my iPod with an app called FlacBox.

So... what are the odds they just play through the new album? It does fit their current set list format. 60mins of solid jams, a mind bending Danny solo, then a huge finish. Seems legit. Here’s hoping.

My friend and I were discussing this last night. I think the Fear cuts that are certain to get played are the title track, Descending, Invincible, and 7empest. If one more makes it in there, my guess is it will be Pneuma. I think Culling Voices may miss the initial cut. Nothing against that song, really like it. But it comes off a bit like Intension off 10k Days which did not make it into setlists until a couple years later.

So as I listened to the last couple minutes of 7empest, it occurred to me that this is probably the last time in my life I hear new Tool music. Brought a tear to my eye to be honest.

Things I have said this year:
I can’t wait for August 30th
I can’t wait for presale
I can’t wait for delivery
I can’t wait for tour dates
I can’t wait for tickets to go on sale
I can’t wait to see that new Opiate video again
I can’t wait to see Pneuma live
Goddamn. Tool is a helluva drug. I hate myself.

I'm kind of pissed about this presale. Toolarmy, letting me down again.....
I don't know who can afford these tickets. Usually, you go to concerts with a buddy, not alone. That makes the VIP tickets really cost $1000. I don't know about you guys, but my friends have a limit regarding what they can afford for a concert and its about $50. My mom's health really isn't great, and I wanted to take her to see the band, and you're screwing around with people at $xxxx prices. I took off so I could get these presale tickets and I have a meeting on Friday at 10AM (when the general on sale is) that I can't get out of.
Thanks a lot.

Sucks you can’t get in on the regular sale, but that isn’t the band’s fault.
The price and value of VIP tickets can be debated, but they are called VIP. They aren’t simply pre-sale. You may be able to scalp tickets for less...

It's the bands fault because they made it sound like regular tickets would be available in the presale and they witheld the information until the last second. Also, $500 for that package is pretty weak - enough to be insulting.
It is insulting for the following reasons:
- No guarantee of a good seat at the venue.
- No guarantee of a meet and greet
- Opportunity for them to try to sell me more shit
But to be honest with you, I wasn't going to buy a VIP in the first place. I just wanted a chance to see a band with my mom before scalpers bought everything up.

I think you're being overly pessimistic regarding the "no guarantee" parts, and I think they should have worded it differently. I expect that:
* Assuming the floor isn't GA, you will almost certainly get a great seat
* I'll be amazed if there are no members available for meet & greet, given that it includes a sound check and group photo. I think they're just backing away from the idea that all members will be available, when circumstance could dictate they are not.
That said, the pre-sale/VIP bait and switch is pretty lousy. Excluding the real in-demand towns I expect there to be no problems for non-TA members getting them.

You can buy good seats right now on Stubhub for the same price as the Tool presale for in-demand towns.

Of course, you don't get the other stuff though. If your only consideration is a good seat, then go for it I guess.

Hard to imagine a meet and greet being worthwhile, but that could just be me. I don’t see the value in meeting a famous person briefly, just to meet them.

Am I reading this right? Only VIP packages in the TA presale? If I just want tickets I have to try on Friday?

Now that I think about it, it would probably violate the contract with Axis. I also noticed that this is NOT the same Q&A with Adam. This is soundcheck and a group photo.
In the past (in SF) when the floor was GA, the Vip folks had excellent balcony seats reserved for them.
Also note that the best seats at Staples are listed at $175 plus fees. So the VIP costs about $300 when you factor that in..

Have none of you ever done VIP for Tool or at least read about it either on this site or Fourtheye? It most certainly is not just as you described here. It's not brief and you don't just meet Adam for a few minutes. Btw, the prices for it have always been $500. That's not a new price point.
CSB - saw both Adam and Danny at King Crimson tonight. Adam seemed in a good mood and I just happened to have my Sacto VIP shirt on. He asked my friend if we would see them at Staples- definitely. VIP both nights. Worth every penny.

agreed. i was definitely under that impression, and hoping for that to be the case. like, as a life-line. they're all too few too far between. i'm in new hampshire. all of new england's angling for boston, if not uncasville (which has a 24m pop. NY metro area to compete with). i've lived in this region most my life, have gone for tool tickets a dozen times, and have only managed to see 'em twice ...before selling out, each and every other single time. yes, i bald af.

From their perspective, they are the best! Selling all their tickets, all the time...

On this subject, I agree. The shame of it is there are bands out there that set good examples. I've always felt U2 does a decent job. They give long time fan club members a unique code prior to the pre-sale that is good for any section. Radiohead and Bruce Springsteen do it well too. There are ways to fight scalpers and reward long-time fans outside of the VIP type offers.

NIN did awesome getting its fanclub members seats at reasonable prices. I've had the toolarmy membership for years now and have never got anything with it. I was hoping along with it seems everybody else to just nab a chance at regular presale tickets. I'm sure its awesome to attend the VIP but as someone who barely afford the face value tickets its completely out of my reach. I guess me and the lady will be in the dogfight on Friday. Good luck everybody.

CSB - saw both Adam and Danny at King Crimson tonight. Adam seemed in a good mood and I just happened to have my Sacto VIP shirt on. He asked my friend if we would see them at Staples- definitely. VIP both nights. Worth every penny.

But to be clear, this VIP is different from the ones in the past. No special performances, no Q&A, no video props to take pics with..
This is early entry, soundcheck, group pic, reserved seats.
