ZAP!

It's named (-) ions because the whole song is about electricity. Danny and Maynard probably found some sheet metal (in orchestral percussion, ornately referred to as a "thunder sheet") and wanted to do something with it. The static zapping sound you hear is two parallellish conducting rods that carry a spark between them (like the ones in Commander Keen). The "(-)" is present because of the reference to electricity -- a negative ion composed of "-" is simply an electron, the basis for electric current.

Re: ZAP!

If you listen with headphones, the sound goes from on eear to the other really clearly.

Re: ZAP!

If you have a good stereo with some dolby shit... then you can hear it even more clear.

Re: ZAP!

I have Dolby. This song is almost as fantastic as Third Eye.

Oh yeah, randomly, what would you guys think of Disp/Ref/Third Eye instead of Triad?

Re: ZAP!

I dunno about that -- I think Reflection would go into Third Eye better than it does into Triad, because really Reflection and Triad are just crossfaded, instead of musically segued.
