If you like amazing live shows where the sound is far superior than the CD then go see Radiohead.
Tool / Radiohead tour would be the greatest show on Earth...besides Ashley Simpson...
i disagree with you.

I have never seen Radiohead but I would like to. I think a Tool/NIN show would be better though.

Saw it! And yea it was a good show. Maynard's voice was toast tho so it kind of muted the whole affair. NIN were very good and the overall experience was a winner. Too bad they only did a few dates together and Europe only.

I am jealous even though Maynards voice was toast. I would be in heaven to see Tool/NIN in a co-headlining tour in the US and they both played complete sets.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
It's difficult to really compare Tool and NIN and Radiohead. My two most favourite live shows of all were Tool's performance in Saskatoon last week, and Radiohead's Vancouver '03 show. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to take in two shows of that magnitude within the same day.

Even though I am not a huge NIN fan, I do have to say they put on the better show the night I saw them with Tool. I think the problem with a line up like that (or with Radiohead) is you are bound to try and compare the two acts- almost like it's a competition. It sounds silly to say it but that is how it came out. I'll always remember that night as the night I saw NIN perform a better show than Tool, even though I think Tool is the superior band.
Starting to get pretty stoked about the show in LA- less than a week away!

In regards to the Everett show....
Anyone on here get one of the signed lithographs or the Adam Jones original artwork? I heard they only had 3 of the signed lithographs and I only saw 1 of the Adam Jones art. I ran into a guy that bought one of the signed lithos and he said he paid $450! I wanted one so bad but just couldn't pull the trigger...

he's not the pimp. he's just their driver. and damn, those is some ugly ho's. I'd need a double viagra with a cialis kicker to hit that beast in the middle.

Leaving for LA Saturday morning I am really looking forward to the show. So do any of you think LA gets anything different or we just going to be standard set.

Do expect something different. Its L.A. baby!!! Plus when they first played at the Staples Center during the first major tour of 10,000 Days, they debut Wings 1 and 2 live for the very first time ever!!! Also, Led Zeppelin are having their gig hours before this show, and we all know Tool's conncetion to them. Maybe expect a cover song...i dunno im just saying.

What happened to the old days (earlier on the 10kdays tour) when everyone was posting RIGHT after the show? Anyway Its really interesting that this is definatly not the last of the tour...but for the US I'm not sure yet if this is it or not.... A couple ways to look at it 1. Maynard does keep saying hope to see you again soon. (The word in that sentence to pay attention to is HOPE thats what he said in Tulsa anyway) 2. They always END tours in california. Now I know they are playing California right before Vegas but still we can hope for a final US sweep. Good luck to Ross and all others who are going to the GANGSTER ASS venue (Nokia Theatre). If the setlist changes it will be the LA show and / or the second Vegas show so good luck!!!!
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

Really? That arena is a piece of shit. I saw them at the Paramount and the Oracle Arena during this albums tour, and goddamn was the Paramount better. Avoid arenas please.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Agree with the poster above about the setlist. If they do decide to mix it up a little it will be in LA or Vegas. I hope it's both, but I'll settle for Vegas. ;)

Paramount by far had the worst sound unless you sit in dead center--every time when Justin hit those base notes, part of the sound spectrum disappeared right in front of me and i was like 7 rows from the stage. Tool is an arena band and it has the kind of sound only an arena can contain. If you're stuck in the bleachers, of course you get bad sound. I always got the best sound from where I stood. Saw Tool 4 times at the Coliseum and they were by far the best shows.

anyone know about the rumors the set list will change in L.A.? last time it did, L.A. was the first city to hear wings/10,000 days live. i heard maynard got real emotional. i'd love to hear undertow, but would settle for flood. and its L.A. come on "learn to swim" no aenema???

admit it, Tool are not going to play anything out of the ordinary. This whole tour the setlist has been the same - at this point i'll bet even both nights in Vegas will be the same. of course, if they do bust out an old tune i'll be thrilled. that said, this tour has just been crazy when you think of the amount of visual production going into it, with lighting rigs, projections, lasers, etc. and i haven't heard any complaints about their musicianship, maybe just the mix in each venue. in some respects i can confidently say it's their best tour ever.

Yes, when you finally see the show you understand why they are playing consistent sets. The lights and everything are a grand production set to a certain set list. I was thinking it was kind of lame at first, but after seeing the show on Saturday I know why they are playing the same sets. It just wouldnt work any other way.
