I notice Adam is rehearsing with his natural finish Gibson Les Paul in this pic (as opposed to his silverburst). Historically, this guitar is used for alternate tunings (prison sex/parabola) while the silverburst is tuned to standard drop D (97% of Tool songs)...I'm predicting Parabola stays on the setlist from Tempe. If I'm right I'm gonna be stoked!!!!!! I didn't have a great view of much during the Tempe show and would love to see that again....

Ah, is that "The Paul"? I have that guitar. 1979. Got it when I was a kid for Xmas from my folks and held on to it to this day. It has Humbuckers that really scream. Believe Cobain used it from time to time too.

Except when it comes to using your phone to take video/pictures at Tool gigs. Maybe its typical for Tool shows but I've never been to a show where security threatens to take your phone away from you and delete your shit if you're caught. The email sent from the venue stated that this time they will ask you to leave the venue if you're caught...lets see if that's real or not.

I believe you are referring to SF for the 8:00 prompt start but I think he is asking about SD. I got the SD email today (posted it on that thread), nothing about the show start time or 3teeth coming on, it was just talking about gates at 5:30 to allow ample security time, pat downs, metal detectors, and most importantly, maximum purse sizes. I'm speculating of course but I don't see how they won't be prompt at the posted start time of 7:30 like mentioned for SF, since there will be 3 bands and an 11:00 curfew.

At the recent Puscifer shows, they said this up front when entering the venue- and enforced it. Phones were not confiscated but recordings/photos were asked to be deleted if caught or you had to leave the venue. We talked about it a few pages back in this thread. I honestly love it.

Now if we could just figure out a way to get people to shut their yaps about their personal lives during the performance...

Still pouring, looking like it's going to be an all day event. I was looking forward to heading over to B.G. early and sitting in line to get my spot inside. Still going over by 2 check it out then find a bar to hang in. I'll keep updating the line situation when I'm over there. If it stays like this and everybody waits last minute to get in that line is going to be worse then Reno. I'd rather get wet early get in dry out then go over late and get stuck waiting in the rain regardless.

Awesome, thanks! I am going tomorrow and even though I have been to all the other Tool shows at BG, I still never know when to get in line. I am hoping it is possible to grab dinner, get in line around 6ish and then still get a seat in the balcony. Doesn't necessarily need to be the best seat, just don't want to be stuck behind one of those damn poles.

Is there really an 11pm curfew in SF @ BG?

if you are referring to my post above on this page, I was referring to SD - 7:30 start time and 3 bands with 11pm curfew (according to viejas website). Not sure if BG has an 11 curfew but may not matter with a prompt 8pm start and only the one opener.

Not sure, I know that they have a New Year's Eve show every year which obviously ends after midnight, but there could be some sort of dispensation in that case since the following day is a holiday.

I think it will probably be a moot point anyway since, if memory serves, at the other BG shows, Tool went on around 9 and ended well before 11.

Nah, tonight will be 9th Tool show. The 2014 Billy Graham show was when a member of security demanded for me to delete a video I was caught taking on my phone - first time I had ever seen security that strict on that. My previous Tool experience before that was 2010, before smartphones became super widespread so maybe this is a newer rule. I agree I do like it, I hate going to a show and seeing a bunch of screens in my way of the stage.

Can anyone remember if you are allowed to bring in food, like a sandwich, in to BG? Having to line up early would seem to preclude dinner and I would rather not stand in line for crappy hot dogs or whatever.

No, can't bring in food. They have crappy pizzas as well inside. But if you want to eat before going in, there is a large grass area across the street from the venue, so you can sit and eat before you get in line if you want (or eat in line if you can walk and eat at the same time, line will prob take a while.)
