Absolutely love Vegas so far! Palms is pretty dope. Hotel room is an epic 1 minute commute to the venue entrance. Maybe 2 minutes if I run into traffic on the commute by way of elevator wait time.

No blacking out post show for this idiot tonight!

Yup, one of the best "small" venues around. Can't wait to get out there for tomorrow night's shenanigans.

Just got my tickets for the Nampa show in June. Was kind of shocked to see the boys charging nearly double what they had normally been charging for tours in the last decade. I'll gladly pay the fucking $100 after fees, but damn guys....

Got lower bowl from TM. I don't think that's happened for me for a Tool show in years.

Looks like I'm going to SacTown...

They need to put out a new record. Then they would be able to sell out the Coliseum.

APC in Vegas was a hoot. The VIP experience was great, except Billy didn't love my question so much (he called it a "terrible question"). But overall it was incredibly well done and I really liked the wine from Caduceus Cellars. Got to hang with kanaduh and friend both nights. And we did a pretty good job cleaning up at the Palms Sports Book (well, the Leafs came in anyway!). Durangatang - sorry I missed ya. Next time! And finally Gravity is a friggin awesome song. Killed both nights I saw it.

Back to Tool. San Manuel, huh? Yeesh. I'll pull the trigger since it seems like this will likely kill any chance at Honda Center dates.

What did you ask? Why do Tool have a 12 minute intermission?

Now that would have been funny! He was talking about his past and being a tech for bands like NIN. I mentioned I was curious about his days as a tech with Tool and asked him what it was like working with Maynard now. He initially seemed fine with it and ran up on Maynard's platform like he was checking it out for the first time. But then he looked annoyed and said "that's a terrible question". Yea, it wasn't very good, and if I was him I would also be a little put off the first thing anyone asks is some generic pap about how it is working with another member of the band instead of something more specific (like his setup, influences, future plans, etc). He did answer though and said he liked it and commented a bit about how things work when writing songs for the band.

Btw, James Iha was there tuning up onstage during VIP. Billy went over to him and asked him for some thoughts about APC. But he was very reluctant to get involved and instead made a few wry comments before high-tailing it away from the group. Wish he would have stuck around.

I mean I knew QotSA was into this shit because of Bordain's SoCal Desert EP, and I have been to Pioneertown/Pappy & Harriets/Joshua Tree, but still most of this was new to me
I was at Desert Generator all weekend. Love the Kyuss family tree bands and the desert/stoner sound.

Hello all, made it back from the bacchanality of Vegas. Alive, but barely. Phew. APC had a great show. Maynard talked to the crowd a bit. Cracked a joke about (paraphrasing) "Thanks for putting up with us while we figure out these songs we haven't played in 6 years. You guys have been a good test audience." Had us say Happy Birthday to a tour member and also added "Happy Birthday to my mother who is in the crowd with us tonight.". That was a nice moment. Voice sounded clear and good. Set list was 16 songs and had two covers...c'mon TOOL! Pearl was awesome as usual. Its kind of a trip to get out of a show and be released in to a casino with civilians. At least the show mob hung out and made the transition fun. Got to hang out with kanaduh a bit and that made for some good times. He almost got blown off a 28th floor balcony at the Palms! Ha! sonnyboy, sorry I missed you too. Vegas shenanigans (and altered state of mind) kept me from getting in touch. We'll get that beer sometime. Looks like the TOOL tour is expanding and maybe I can get in on that action too. Now I shall retire to my lurker cave to finally get some sleep. Spiral Out.
