Hey,
I don't want to be the guy that postes old man's threads but that song really makes me think a lot about Erik Satie's works for piano solo.
Throuhout, the quiet moments in songs like Schism also reminds me Satie's works but also Beethoveen's and particularly the slow movements of late symphonies.
Many of you will think that's bullshit but take a look at the beginning of Beethoven's 4th symphony or Satie's gymnopedies and you'll find many things melodically and harmonically Tool-similar.
But that's not the only point: do any of you know a classical pianist and also conductor named Baremboim says about late Beethoven? He explains that it's about finding your own path in life and that's a very common topic in Tool songs...
Anyone interested in what i postedf? I have more and more to write...
