Hey everyone. I'm another of these long time lurker, first time poster people. Anyplaces yet agreed upon for a meetup before or after the show?
Also has anyone found out for sure what time the doors are opening?
I realize that there has been no openers on the set so far, but at the Wolfmother show (amazing band and killer live performance btw) Sat. night at Gypsy I was talking with one of the stage set up guys who will also be working the Tool show tonight, and he said that as recently as last week he heard that Isis would be opening. I cross checked this on their website and there was nothing announced, BUT the last show listed on their tour page was May 6 (touring with Butcher and another). That could explain why they haven't been at any of the other shows so far... shrug, any thoughts?
I'll be in a black Tool @ Coachella shirt with wavy shoulder length blonde hair if anyone wants to say hey.
And you joined in May 06? Yea long time lurker alright...
Uhhh that generally refers to those who have been long time readers of the site but not one who has registered and posts... and there have been a lot of us doing so with all the goings on surrounding the mini-tour. At any rate, I've been visiting toolshed and toolnavy for a few years now, not that it really matters.
I called the venue today and she told me that you need to go to Hillcrest and McFarlin Rd. and there will be a Johnny Law pointing you in the right direction for parking.
I talked to a HIghland Park P.O. last night at work and he said that they were well aware that there was a TooL show going on tonight and there will be plenty of parking. He said something about a parking garage behind McFarlin. Not sure what he was talking about.
I say just give yerselves a few extra minutes and GOOD GOD be careful doing anything illegal. Sounded to me that they are going to be well prepared for some of us. I think we will be partaking off campus.
7 hours, 30 minutes to go........
Heading upto meet OperativeX and make our way to Dallas. If anybody wants to meet up you can email me at [email protected]. I'll be checking my email upto the show and then afterwards. Peace. :)
This guy from Cali and myself were taken for a ride by some ebay fucker (accordcoupe86 - [email protected] - please spam him as I have :) ) and are now looking for tickets. The bastard wont respond to any emails and the phone # listed for him is disconnected. We both paid thru paypal so i think we can get this $ back. Now, we are back in the ticket hunt. I've PM'd a couple folks that said they had 2 tickets but if anyone else has a few PM me. Thx.
Well this a-hole that i thought stiffed me overnighted the ticket to me and now I have an extra. I paid $213 for it, so i'm looking in that range but will probably go lower (Will not go to face value) to get rid of it. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. Oh and the guy in Cali had it overnighted to him as well. Now he has a ticket sitting with his buddy in cali, but he's here in Dallas! lmao
Well, I'll be going alone. I have no idea what I'll be wearing though. Probably something fire-y. Or maybe I"ll wear my polo that's got a fluer de lis. I mean, it's a magickal show, might as well some magickal clothing, right?

I'm guessing just whenever people get there. I'm going straight from work, so I'll get there around 5:30 or so. Sounds like there'll be a few there at this fountain thing. :)
I missed my flight out of San Diego and wont be seeing the show tonight. *cry* So uhm, yeah best of luck to you all. I dont ever want to comeback here again so......

ROFL thats why you buy tickets to shows that are in your city. And if they dont come to your city, then you must have chosen the wrong city to live in.
well, with this mini tour, i'm sure people all over the country are travelling to see the boys. I don't think I would jet set to see them, mainly for money reasons, but whatever, to each their own.
Hell yeah. Just arrived at the hotel. T-minus 5 hours and counting!!!! Hope to see some of you folks there. I guess the big fountain is the meetup spot. Not sure yet about driving or going the taxi route. Surely there'll be ample parking, right?
I am in the market center area... about seven miles from the venue. But, it was 29.00 a night and has free wireless to boot. I was thinking tazxi, but guess I am driving. If anyone is over here I would split cost of taxi.
I'm hoping they throw something new into the set tonight, but I don't care as long as I'm there! where's everyone sitting?? I managed to get on ticketmaster and got 6th row single ticket at like 10:06. I'm in section D, row F.
i got really fuckin' lucky and almost jizzed myself when I realized how close I'd be! Fuck it, it's worth going alone to a show for this! Any seat in that place looks awesome though! here's some pics that a guy on TA posted.
I "may" have been the luckiest one on ticketbastards.com. I got a single ticket: Section B, Row C, Seat 2 (by the center isle). I should be RIGHT in front of Adam and Maynard. Total w/ service charge $66.66.
I am SO stoked about tonight. This is THE longest day at work I've ever experienced!!!

Ticket has been sold. Thx all. Now lets hope my other ticket is at will call. :)

I'm right there with ya man! I have been at work, but not done shit all day! I just can't quit thinking about the impending happiness!! :) Sounds like your ticket is really close too! 3rd row, center, it doesn't get much better than that and at face value! I consider myself really lucky to have gotten the 1 ticket, let alone that close!!
i think there will be parking garages for us, don't know if they'll charge or not. I'm thinking they will. where is your hotel?
I'm at the Wyndham on LBJ Fwy (pretty much at the intersection of the Tollway and I-635)...according to yahoo maps, approx. 8 miles from the venue. I'm just nervous about getting lost or getting stuck in traffic and showing up late. God forbid.

you can go to www.dfwmaps.com and search for 6405 Boaz Lane you can then zoom out to get a better sense of direction. McFarlin is off Hillcrest and Mockingbird basically just a few blocks back up toward 635 off hillcrest. If you take the hillcrest exit off 635, just head south until you see SMU, can't miss it.
more info from smu's site:
From Dallas North Tollway
Exit Mockingbird Lane and proceed east past Hillcrest Avenue to Bishop Boulevard. Turn left (north) onto the campus. Proceed north 300 feet to Schlegel Street. Turn right to access the Meadows Museum Parking Garage.

Proceed about five miles and take the Lovers Lane/University Boulevard/SMU Boulevard exit. Continue on the service road to SMU Boulevard. Turn right (west) onto campus. Moody Parking Garage is at the southeast corner of SMU Boulevard and Airline Road.

there's always another way to get there! :) If you are going to partake in any 'activities' be careful. Highland park is a very ritzy, police heavy area. :)
