Damn that clip of Danny at NAMM has me so hyped. April seems optimistic, late May seems more likely if it’s going to happen this year. That or fall, but fingers crossed for spring

I'd be surprised if the only US shows we see in May are the three festivals. I half expect if/when they do formally announce an album release date there will be a few more gigs added, though I'd probably expect a more comprehensive US tour after the EU shows.
I think we can all agree Danny is not the most reliable when it comes to release dates, but he was quoted as saying April or May at a gig just after the NAMM signing. Maynard's "No" statement really doesn't change much.

Do you think that a song will be released ahead of the album release?

edit: I mean... the visuals during the last tour had me convinced they were large portions of a completed music video, but I thought that idea got shot down. Can't remember...
... maybe it was Junior? although he may have said that he could not confirm that the visuals were a music video.

I can only speculate around what happened with the Pot video. I recall that there was some confirmation that it was recorded, but never saw the light of day. My only assumption was that it maybe didn't meet the quality standards Adam/Tool required, and hence never saw release.
To me, while it looks very Toolish, it actually seems more like a collection of ideas, rather than a more coherent video. My second guess at this point is that the existing video for the Pot was then reworked as a series of animations for use during the song live.
It'd be cool if Junior could give us some insight here (if he's allowed).
Well Maynard gave us a tweeter update and mid May thru mid July are the hopeful dates for the new album. Kind of sad that the US dates and European dates might not have a new album out by then, so I don’t see any new music being played. I guess it’s been so long since Europe has had a Tool tour that the last current setlist they have been playing is a good one for them, but the US dates have seen this tour, what 5 times now. Glad we got a update from Maynard. I am with Hellboy and think it’s sad that the main website has given us nothing.
My thing is they should take as long as they please to make a new album but dont make a fucking game of it. In all this time Adam couldn't be working on the artwork while all the other stuff was going on? I dunno man, I'm starting to wonder if the weight of expectations is got them a little discombobulated.
