^I totally agree with everything above ^

Sometimes sarcasm doesn't translate well on posts (or maybe it wasn't that funny), either way there's no denying '...And Justice for All' slays.

Yeah without being able to hear the tone of someone's voice you can't tell if that person is being sarcastic or not.

why aren't many people mentioning Mantra in their setlists? I think I forgot to mention it in mine? Unless they didn't play it right before Schism and I was imagining it.

I don't think they are playing it, might be wrong though. Back in the day they would bust out 'Mantra' as an extended intro to 'Sober.' I've got it on a couple bootlegs from '98, I think.
What you are hearing is probably 'Vicarious Jam' as it's noted on a few setlists I've seen from this tour.

Those extended intros to "Sober" were called "Merkaba". That extended intro to "Schism" is just that, an extended intro. To be honest I can't think of any time (even on the Lateralus tour) where they actually played "Mantra".

I'm pretty sure that they only play with Tool until the July 18th show... Then Tool heads to Europe.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

i have a question, see if anybody can help me out here...what are some of the songs they play in the arena while youre sitting there waiting for the opening band to come on? ive been to a couple shows and ive noticed they play the same ones every time. a couple ones i recognized are: ween - piss up a rope and nin - the good soldier.

At chicago, there was a bunch of rap music played through the PA (way to be stereotypical guys!), I think some iron maiden (or some metal of that sort), some Cypress Hill, and that's all I remember.

So....I have been wondering, do we expect more dates to be announced after the European leg? I really don't think I can wait till another album comes out to see them again. Fourteen and counting...

Yes I was also wondering if anyone had any information about the expected last U.S. leg as well ? I do expect them to come back to the U.S., but where and when ? I hope they come back to Oklahoma City or Tulsa, Ok (I live in between) I have managed to see them three times this tour however three great and all different shows in Wichita, Oklahoma City, and St Louis!! If anyone has any information about a last U.S. leg that would be great!!!?????

In Richmond Maynard said "see you very soon" and something similar at either Cincy or Youngstown, I can't remember which. But who knows if that really means anything.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

There's gotta be another US leg. The Pacific Northwest didn't get much of a tour, not to mention Alaska usually gets at least one show, which it hasn't. Also, NYC usually gets a two-nighter which it hasn't gotten (except for the warm-up tour, but I doubt that counts). Fingers crossed...

LA and SF did not get shows on the second leg (third leg, if you count the warm-up) yet either. Hard to believe they would not play more CA dates when they can easily do two nighters in both cities.

Well, I think the reason why LA and SF were skipped this time was because they did LA in 2006 and probably wanted to give SD a two-nighter. Nonetheless, I still would think LA should get another couple of shows before all is said and done.

for the lateralus tour, they hit central west coast of florida twice (tampa oct '01 & ft myers aug '02). 10,000 days has given us may '07 (tampa/orlando) so "hat dance, rain dance, line dance, acid frenzy dance... any dance for a return ...

here's to hoping everyone gets another opportunity

there should be an exchange program

cheers

I just got back from the show in Hamilton and they played a song I didn't recognize inbetween the intro and the rest of flood. Anybody know what the song was? He said something about playing a cover as a prank, but I didn't really hear...

I am not a member of Toolarmy but if that is the only reason you want to join, I would wait to see if they add more U.S. dates. This leg of the tour is almost over and they are going to tour in Europe soon. Hopefully they will add more U.S. dates after Europe.

There should be a poll on here to see what TDNers would choose for Tool to play if they actually did this.

I just noticed that in the tour section on toolband.com, all the name of the locations are first letter capital then small letters. Except for Hamilton which is all caps. My theory, tool thinks Hamilton rocks. Or, they are caps because toolband.com knows i live near there, in which case im stupid.

I just saw the deftones is Seattle with Fall of Troy on 7/8/2007. They rocked! They also played 20 songs. Deftones got on stage at about 10:00 pm and got off the stage a little after midnight. It was an Awesome show!

Wow, it must have been nice to go to the Mansfield show last night...Pushit and Flood!!! Too bad they didn't show the same love for Chicago...or Summerfest for that matter.
