Heard on the radio today that APC is booking summer dates and to forget the Tool record until this time next year. Anyone else hear this?

I don't think we'll hear a Tool record until this time regardless, but I'm not entirely convinced APC will be doing dates this summer.

I'm tellin ya, they should pull a Green Naugahyde. Wait a full 10 years and release something marginally better than the singer's solo projects.

Actually I feel pretty confident that I will be more satisfied with Tool's next release than I was with Primus' latest.

There was news that Tool had finished recording, but the band has let Rolling Stone magazine know that it was just a rumor and they are not done recording. Apparently Adam made a joke with some fans and also on twitter but followed up by just saying just kidding on the album being completed.

I think they gotta be very close to done though for Adam to be fucking with the fans.

well, either the album is done and its a secret ploy to release it last minute so its not leaked, or they havent even given maynard music yet and they are touring for seemingly no reason? BUT blair did say that the tour would be evolving and that concert goers will be in for a treat... i was hoping that to mean they would start playing some of the new songs live. any other guesses?

When asked about the status of the new album at a VIP q+a session in portland, adam responded with 'its done and it will be out tomorrow... just kidding'. That somehow spurred crave online to release an article claiming that the album was done. In fact, album is not done, they still arent even ready for maynard yet.

The tour is so the band can collect their salary for the year. I think that's obvious. they arennt coasting on record sales.

Adam also revealed at a q+a session in sf which Kanaduh recorded that the band is in the middle of a 7 year lawsuit, the band seems to be sued once a year for ridiculous reasons, there have been at least 3 serious medical issues that have interrupted the writing process. also each of them are getting older and they insist on writing at their own pace, on their own terms and for themselves.

With regard to the new album, adam emphatically said "we have a LOT of material". Take that to mean whatever you want.

i saw some people hoping they go a 180.. while i like their old albums i really hope they dont.. have you ever seen that one guy trying too hard to relive the 80's?? thats what id think itd be like if they tried to be nostalgic with this next album.. why limit their creativity like that? idc which direction they'll go because i have faith that itll still sound like Tool..

This album will never be released. They just finished a greatest hits mini tour, and are done for the year. Next year we may get another one and possibly some worthless anniversary edition bullshit. They will say "We are almost finished with the album and it will probably be out in the fall or late winter". It doesn't exist! They have been playing this game since 2010! It may go on for another 10 years.
