She's Been Pregnant for a Year:a very, very short story.
She said she was with child this time last year. I never knew human gestation could last that long, and yet the ultrasound depicts no monster growing within her. She says it's a girl and that she will name the baby Lynda, but she also said, two months ago, that her due-date was two weeks away. Perhaps time has gone on strike for better hours, or, more likely, she is a liar. Unless, somehow, it is all mysteriously true, causing tiny spiderweb cracks to flash along the face of my reality; could she really have been pregnant a whole damned year? No. I must deny that option. She says her due date is two weeks away, still. She has pictures of her proud husband with his arms wrapped around her protruding belly. They seem happy, but I am not certain I believe in them. I have known her for years, but this husband turned up with no notice a year ago, when she began her claims to pregnancy. When she actually squeezes the child from her womb and produces photographs of the alleged infant, perhaps I might believe her. Until then I will go about my life with a healthy skepticism towards the entire situation. And I will keep in mind one of her past fallacies.

I like your concept, but I think you need to let it cook a bit more. You have good character to work with, so work with it. Do a few revisions, maybe make it a bit more 'fleeting' - if that makes sense to anyone but my drunk ass - and try not to use any words that aren't meaningful to the story.
When you write a "very, very short story", make sure every word of it has a purpose.

Yeah, I'll probably do a revision or two on it... it was kind of a spurious thing. And yes, it makes sense to more than your drunk ass cos I ken well what you mean.

She said she was baking a pie this time last year. I never knew cooking could last that long, and yet the oven light depicts no terrible and blackened pastry burning within the oven. She says it's a pie and that it will taste delicious, but she also said, two months ago, that it would be done in twenty minutes. Perhaps time has gone on strike for better hours, or, more likely, she is a liar. Unless, somehow, it is all mysteriously true, causing tiny spiderweb cracks to flash along the face of my dessert-reality; could the pie really have been baking for a whole damned year? No. I must deny that baking-time. She says her oven timer has twenty minutes left, still. She has pictures of herself and her proud husband with his hands in oven mitts waiting by the stove. They seem happy, but I am not certain I believe in them. I have known her for years, but this husband turned up with no notice a year ago, when she began her claims to pie. When she actually removes the dessert from her oven and produces photographs of the alleged pastry, perhaps I might believe her. Until then I will go about my life with a healthy skepticism towards the entire situation. And I will keep in mind one of her past fallacies.
