Funny, I used to think this song meant MAYNARD IS REACHING OUT, CONTACT THE BAND regarding so and so, but that was the ego talking.
It seems to me, because of the softness of this song, it is directed at the unconscious (subconscious, the mind, however you prefer it). The idea is to imprint the experience of, or what youve learned from, the album. Then recall, bring it forward to the conscious self, and observe our positive behavioural changes as they unfold.
But this is only what I experienced, it may not be right ...
i always thought of this song as maynard hoping he can remember that feeling of peace and enlightenment so that he can experience once again. I love the simplicity of these lyrics that can be interpreted many ways but still give the same feeling overall.
