I have recently visited "The Tool Page " for help with the lyrics to 10,000 Days. In the part of the song before he sings "La la la la la la la lie" He chants(?) what sounds like (and according to the consensus page says):
Part vam-pire
Part warr-ior
Car-ni-vore and voy-eur
for the next part, it sounds to me like he says:
Stare at the set, mental (as if completely absorbed by the boob tube)
Sing to the death rattle (like, 'till the fat lady..... like all we watch for is
the death/dying part, hence the rest of the song.)
I also could see "mental/sing" as a different word or combination of words...Just a thought.

Stare at the transmitter, sing to the death rattle.
One of the best Tool moments, ever.

I hear "Stare at the transmittal, sing to the death rattle." It makes sense and rhymes the "tal" and "tle". I could buy "synched" though. I'll have to keep listening.
