ugh, there was no ticket limit? usually it's 8 or something, which is still too much. and yeah, putting 2 shows on sale at the same time was a bit retarded of them.

Wow, that sucks. I managed to get two gold tickets at about 9:15 through the magic of hitting F5 in two different browsers about a million motherfucking times. Didn't realise until now how lucky i was...

Fark... sooo lucky... got 4 'normal' seated at about 9.25... I too needed to have about seven tabs open in two browsers to get there...

Sympathies to all those who missed out.

Lined up for 4 hours, managed to get my Gold GA to Sydney but only Silver for Melbourne. Mind you this was pretty much right on 9am.

Naturally, I'm over the fucking moon...

Re: 2007/01/24 - Sydney, AUS - Entertainment Centre

After some 400 phone calls (calling every 6 seconds for 40 minutes - struggling with the lousy ticketmaster site the whole time) I finally got through. Gold was never gonna happen I guess, but hey - tickets are tickets. Section 25, but tickets are tickets.

Given the speed it sold out, and the fact that they did 2 Aus runs for Lateralus, I think a second show is a pretty safe bet. Then again, given the timing of the concert, they could just be considering BDO the second show.

I got the same thing (though different numbers)...glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm hoping it might just be a kind of ticket identifying number kind of deal...rather than actual seats.

Does anyone want to sell their tickets to a guy from Newcastle? We couldn't get through and I missed out....I am mega pissed off. And if they make their second show at the BDO I'm gunna be pissed off because that will be insane to get tickets for, and they won't be as good outside.

LOL, I'm the same. I DID hit floor, gold section. ie. I didn't choose "best seats available" and my reciept says
Section FLOOR Row 31 Seats 49 - 50

I hope i don't have to sit next to you.

edit: looking at this: http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/venue...8&map=tool.jpg

I'd bet my life on that it is just a numbering system. The ticket doesn't mention any section number, just floor.

Saying that, don't count on me staying allocated to my standing number. I ain't standing 31 people back from the stage

A Brisbane show is more or less a given at this stage. For one thing, their press release mentions an upcoming announcement of a Queensland show. Also, this is an actual leg of the 10k tour. If they'd tried to fit in some Aussie shows after Japan (which I thought they might do) then we'd probably only see 1 concert each in a couple of major cities. That's not the case though, they've gone back, satisfied their American fans and now they're ready to do the same for us Aussies. Put on track 3 of Lateralus and take a couple of deep breaths. Your time will come soon, I assure you :)

I got 3 GA Standing tix.

Got in line at Penrith at 4:30am

Bought our tix about 10 past, and the guy just behind me was told GA had sold out.

Intense.

But absolute bullshit with the website. I don't fucken trust that sorta thing in the slightest. At least in person i can clearly see who is ahead of me.

Same thing happened to me with Melbourne tickets, Ticketmaster deserve a good, hard kick in the testicles. AND JESUS H. CHRIST - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tool-Sydney-2...QQcmdZViewItem

IS THAT SERIOUS? 2 tickets not much better than mine going for $2025.01 - not sure about the last bidder, but the bidders before went up to $2000 and their feedback makes me think they're genuine..

Seems unlikely to me too, considering there are Gold and Gold GA tickets going for less than that, and those are silver tickets. Then again, that auction might've gone up before the rest, when there were some very sore and disappointed Tool fans online...

I hope you're right... but the way that press release says "Queensland" ie Gold Coast BDO not "Brisbane" has me worried that these will be the only 2 stand alone shows this tour. Also "Lees and West" are the promoters so that means BDO too.

And if they are playing the BDO (which seems obvious they are) why wouldn't they release details of the other stand alone shows? Why wait? Because there aren't any other stand alone shows. The other shows are the B fuckin DO and they can't announce that yet.

So I bought Sydney tickets today and I'll fly down there like I did for the Lateralus mini tour. If by chance they do announce a stand alone Brisbane show i'll have 4 Sydney tickets for sale (and they won't be going on ebay for a profit).

I missed out on tickets too and am fucking howling. All you mother fuckers that got tickets should be stoked. I have just got back from Europe seeing Tool 5 times and I would've been more than happy to travel from Perth for the Syd & Melb shows.

I cant believe how easily I got tickets for all the Euro shows and how much I got fucked over today.

Section 24 Row K, Seats 17 and 18. Never been to that venue before. Can anyone tell me what those seats are like? Binoculars a good idea?

By the way, bad luck to anyone who missed out. Scalpers should die.

How ungrateful. I did the exact same thing as you and was completly unsuccessful.
I hereby curse anyone who bought Tool tickets for the purpose of exploiting people through ebay (or otherwise). May their profits bring them no happiness and nothing but strife untill they learn the errors of their ways. Amen.

I did the same too before I tried the phone, on a 3mbps connection... nothing until about 9.30, and then the site crashed in the middle of my order... whinge whinge whinge? Oh, I'm sorry! No whinging allowed if we weren't as lucky as you? Do you realise how lucky you are? You were fucking lucky, that's all.

Well, for what it's worth - you should know my story.

I sit directly ontop of the largest internet connection in Australia. That's right, the AARNET3 14 Gigabit link. Yes, I was sitting there on MULTIPLE workstations attempting to get a ticket in total desperation.

The speed of ye connection means little here, unfortunately. :\

Im just hoping they put on extra shows (Cmon Newcastle!). I remember this scenario a few years back- Being bummed about missing out on the sydney tickets. Lo and behold a few months later theyre playing extra shows and newcastle to boot. I wont miss out on tickets next time I swear.

Yeah. I had a similar experience in 2001/2002. We actually lined up at 4AM in the morning for the Sydney gig, then managed to score tickets the next year for the Brisbane gig too. Things have changed these days however. It's all so much more hostile :(. I shouldn't give up hope on "real" QLD gig's yet, but it does seem unlikely at this stage.

Something a little baffling? I'll be amazed if Tool AND the RHCP play the same BDO. Logistically, I don't know that it makes sense. It would be a "one or the other" headline, in my opinion.
