I'm surprised no one has come up with this theory yet: THIS IS JUST A DECOY TOUR!
The guys touring are pretty impressive lookalikes. All this anticipation building up....I can't wait for the real tour, to promote the release of the real album.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! WINGS FOR MARIE in LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For all the setlist complainers... IT LOOKS LIKE TOOL FINALLY PLAYED WINGS FOR MARIE!!!!!!!! Check out the reviews from tonight's show in LA! I didn't even make it past the setlist, in the first post. I was shocked. I'm on my way back there now, to read some more.
Man, the guys in LA are lucky bastards! I was hoping to be the first audience to EVER hear it live, in Vancouver two weeks ago. Oh well. Maybe in 2007?
People in the Upcoming LA thread are already saying that Blair shouldn't have piped up so early about the new songs, which didn't happen until now. In a way, I guess most of the cities on this tour (including my Vancouver) got screwed, especially for the fans who went to more than one show with the same setlist. Actually, I should re-phrase that: I guess we got screwed, if Wings becomes a regular song now. If it is only a special occasion thing, then whatever I guess. I still haven't seen Third Eye! :(

i still dont understand how people on ebay are getting away with prices of up to 700$ a ticket when the legallity of it states you can only sell tickets for what they are worth retail, they say its impossible to stop these people when in reality all one has to do is search tool tickets on ebay then gather up the names and mail ebay themselves and have these people prosicuted in some way shape or form, what happens to the 17yo whos working at mcdonalds and is a die hard tool fan but cant afford gas to goto a show that hasnt sold out thats a million miles away. i just think people are lazy and are more concerned with personal profit than artistic expression imho

yeah but they subsituted it for other songs. They have made enough albums to play for at least 2 hours and a bit - Pearl Jam and Radiohead play longer with varied setlists - i dont see what the problem is

well they subbed it for Sober which at about 6 mins is still a winner when you consider wfm/10000 days is 17 mins....the LA show must have been close to 1hr50mins.

I've bought 2 t-shirts off of scalpers in the parking lots, 1 in '01 during Lateralus and 1 in '03 @ a Maiden show. Both of them are so faded you can barely tell what band they are. You know that saying, "you get what you pay for", well, in this case its true. Not to mention it's almost, if not worse, then downloading their songs for free instead of buying their albums since you'ld be "stealing" more money from tool.

Or...you could give your money to Tool since they are the band like/love/worship (choose as appropriate). At least with scalped tickets to shows, the original $ for the ticket went to the band, the scalper just gets the profit.
Ok, today the SHOP part of the Toolband.com site is down, but they are selling shirts for about $25 including shipping. I haven't been to a show yet (tickets for 9/22/2006 Michigan show) but odds are they are the same shirts! They are cheaper because the venue isn't taking any $ from them on them. I ordered one last week, I figure why spend the time in line and spend more $ when I can order online direct for Tool.

~rant on~............not come to the south yet. they started out west and north of the u.s. and went to europe and came back to the u.s. and playing the west and the north agian and going back to some of the same country they already been to in europe. i dont know what i'm getting at but its starting to piss me off that the only band i really care about seeing has not come to charlotte. not even charlotte, they havent been to any of the south like virginia or atlanta g.a. which either one i would be willing to drive to see tool. ~rant off~

yeah, but that hasnt stopped them form coming to charlotte or any of the south before, why now. and the hole bible belt thing, i think that woulden't matter now because of all the post that i seen in the past about maynard being a christian.

Hes got a point. I hear Tool was been banned from around my neck of the woods for a while for "insighting a satanic riot". Tool doesn't even have an image (like most musicians) that people can really prejudge and label, yet they still get the bloody end of the bible slap. Christians suck.

They probably got tired of people yelling freebird during their performances.
First off I live and was born In NC, and I wanna say, lol asshole, lol,....lol....ok.
I was 13 when Tool released Lateralus, I then fell in love with their music, and got to hear all the records prior to Lateralus in a rush. I'm now 18 and 10,000 Days has been released. I may be moving to Florida, even further SOuth, so if I never get to see Tool it will kill me, Im a musician, I love music, I love Tool, who knows whether or not this is their last tour? I gotta see them one way, or another.

Have you got your thumbs yet? When you have thumbs they'll play.
Nice stereotype asshole. ... and it was funnier back when Bill Hicks was saying it.
I've actually been to TOOL shows all over the US, and low-and-behold... there were drunk, loudmouthed, rednecked, thick-skulled, idiotic fans... NO MATTER WHERE I WAS.
The point that TOOL hasn't played in the Southeast US this year is a very very valid one. The amount of space occupied by Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, The Carolinas, Tennessee, and Kentucky is probably larger than any of the European countries that they're visiting twice this year. Sure they're coming back around in '07 and we'll get to see them... but that's just it. It's another tour. We didn't get them ON THIS TOUR. Back in '02, they covered our part of the country... and every OTHER part of the country... twice! Summer '02 and Fall '02 were two separate tours, and I managed to see 10 shows all in a 4 state area around Louisiana.
