CDs hold 700MB of data. That includes all the sub-channel stuff for error checking. If you discard that, as you would for an audio CD, then they can hold more; Audio CDs don't have any form of error checking.

God, we have some computer illiterates here.
It's 765 Megs. Not 666.6. If roxio reports it, roxio sucks (which it does). Do an image rip with Exact Audio Copy, and go to the properties of the WAV image in Windows, or dir it in a DOS prompt.

Its possible that Roxio is reading it some certain way that makes it display as 666. I have no idea what possible way would make it do that... but since so many people are getting 666 as the size, its still possible that it was intentional.

CD's do not hold 765 Mb. Even with TOC and subchannel data, they do not hold that much. When you do a disc copy the program reports that the space taken up on the source cd is 666.6 Mb. I'm sure after ripping it into a disc image or lossless audio its nowhere close to that number however.

how are you calling people computer illiterates when you don't even know that a cd holds only 700mb?
edit: i did just read that there are different modes of writing to cds, but even the uncommon one can't hold 765mb. the most common mode of writing can hold about 700mb

It's 765 Megs. Not 666.6. If roxio reports it, roxio sucks (which it does). Do an image rip with Exact Audio Copy, and go to the properties of the WAV image in Windows, or dir it in a DOS prompt.

CDs cannot hold more than 700 MB
10k Days shows up as 666 MB on mine.

This is all just a conspiracy to distract you from the real meaning of the album.

besides... 666.6 is sixth tenths over the legal satanic limit. so before you go slapping a 'satan inside' sticker on your cd, listen for hidden messages in the music that tell you whether or not you should round up or down.

Okay. Well, here is something new I found out about the whole 666 MB thing.
Yesterday, I was making a copy of Lateralus, so I ripped the CD image to my hard drive. It was, to my surprise, 797 MB. So, maybe 10,000 Days is actually HDCD??
Unless I rip Ænima too and find out that it's 790-some MB too.

The damn 10k DAYS CD, the REAL ONE, y'know, the one you didn't rip to mp3 (losing quality in the process) or download off the net and burn to cd (and that's gonna be quality too, fo shizzle)... yes, I'm talking about the one you bought and put into your CD/DVD drive... that, my friends, is 666 MB.

My zip-code is 0666. Tool came to my door and personally handed me 10.000 days. They had a cup of coffee and reminded me that I only have another 9.999 days to listen to it.
I thought that was rather cute of them.
