Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
Hey guys, I have a question about fake tickets. I'm currently bidding on some awesome tickets through Ebay. The seller doesn't have the greatest of feedback. I'm taking the chance since I plan on paying through PayPal. If you don't receive your item within 1 month of your payment you can file a claim through PayPal and get your money back.
However, I was wondering if I do win and receive the tickets, is there any way for Ticketmaster to authenticate the tickets to prove that they are legit? I just don't want to sell all of my other tickets and then show up at the Molson Amphitheatre and find out my tickets are fake.
Would I have to call Ticketmaster or go down to a Ticketmaster office? I'm sure there has to be some sort of way for them to prove tickets are genuine.

Gotta keep in mind NIN pull people towards buying their fan club membership because they sell the best seats in the hizzouse that way, then the presales for HOB and other organisations.. then when public goes on sale it's like 1/4 of all pit tickets remaining and the rest are 400+'s ;) gg trent.
whereas the tool band seem to enjoy no presales to non-TA ppls and definitely no house-presales for the venue (tsk tsk hummingbird!)

What a trip it will be !!!!
A Little tool marathon on the way up(or down since we are going south:P) will do us no harm ;)
They have 3 house video cameras too recording/live playback for the shows, you'll be really close to a 37/42" widescreen LCD panel array if you're really having problems picking the moles of maynards noggin
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
I'm thinking of going to Detroit the night before also...
man, i'm so hyped.
Been looking for auctions to link here to help you out, but sadly most of the cheapest ($200 and around there) are LAWN!
This time I won't look up set lists....because I want to go in fresh...
I'm hoping for at least one of the following :
Eulogy, Prison Sex, The Pot, Swamp Song...and a long shot....
Jerk Off

I was in section 203 row P for NIN last month and I can tell you that the view was awesome. Keep in mind that Row D is going to be just four rows away from the pit-200 section boundary, so you will very likely have a great view.
Rather disappointed with Ticketmaster, could only score 400 tickets (401 row H, to be specific) and then only lawn seats. Never using Ticketmaster.ca again, or going to fucking Sanford Fleming (there's no phone reception inside, I literally had to run outside to call up my dad and my bro and see what tickets we got)... But oh well, it should still be good :)
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
I was on Ticketmaster 15 minutes before 10am, when the time came closer I got the refresh error (clicking too many times), but luckily it came back before 10 and I scored some tickets. Someone mentioned it took them 8 minutes to get through? I never had a problem and was through after maybe 10 seconds, however even by 10:01 it was only sec.400's/lawns available....
As for purchasing through phone... I always presumed it would just be a massive jam and only be put on hold for half and hour so I always buy online.... do people actually get through right at 10:00am??
Also, for those who asked about seating capacity...
The venue has a capacity of about 16,000; there are 5,500 reserved seats under the 60-foot high covered roof, 3,500 seats under the open sky, and 7,000 seats on the grass bowl. The floor area (100 level) has an unreserved capacity of 1,000. There are also Club and VIP seats for season ticketholders. Two large video panels give everyone in the audience a good view of the performers on stage.
damn, not bad at all..... but I already got level 200's and can't afford to pay that ammount on top of the 4 I already purchased.
Always wondered how these people get Floors GA's, all the time, for lots of shows... yet I bust my ass to get seats, along with everyone else and cant even come close to grabbing these seats! Ticketsmaster sells out in seconds and we get stuck with the shit tickets! Luckily I got 200's and 300's for this show.
At the Hummingbird I got nothing and refused to pay $500-800 for a pair!
Seems like the ones with the floors/best seats aren't even fans of the bands, just get them to sell on ebay! The real fans get jacked!
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
I was near the back half of 203, seats 49 and 50 for the Pixies (actually, it was weezer and the pixies, but we skipped weezer, for obvious reasons...) the view was just great, so you've got nothing to worry about. I've been in the mid-300 sections as well, and had a great time.
And security is usually pretty lax there, so you can probably jumped ahead a few rows and move toward centre when the show gets underway.

I think you can call ticketmaster and verify the tickets' authenticity by using the i.d. numbers on the tickets (each ticket has a #)... TM can tell you over the phone whether it's an official ticket.
But what they can't tell you is whether another ticket for those same seats has been issued -- that is, they can't tell you if someone reprinted a duplicate set of those tickets, which could then be used before yours at the venue, blocking you out (that is, you show up with tickets, but those tickets (duplicates) have already been scanned earlier that night, so you don't get in).
This is the way it worked a few years ago, but i haven't done it in a while... so things may have improved. Good luck.

I don't have the tickets in hand yet -- I'm picking up at TM outlet tomorrow. My email confirmation says "Floor2 -- Seats 1 and 2" and the "Row" column is empty.
It also says -- "General Admission, Standing, This Section is Covered".
Have you seen that a few shows -- Detroit, and i think Colorado? -- are seated, with no GA pit?
I'm sure T.O. is GA standing, otherwise my confirmation would have a Row # (or letter). And yeah, I'm sure hoping its a 1000-person free for all!
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
My Tool ticket via phone experience was quite the disaster.
I tried over the phone for the London number, and my Mum tried the Toronto number. She couldn't get through Toronto but I got through for London ordered via the phone system and the process took FOREVER. By the time I was done ordering over the phone with my credit card thing, it said to hold for an agent. So I held for 10 minutes and then she goes to check and tells me there's been a problem with the credit card system and my order didn't go through :( By now it's 10:25 and I'm freaking out, I explain to the CS agent what happened and it was sold out but she managed to "find" me two lawns. Very very thankful. Lawn in September = not so great, but at least I've got in the venue!
A friend of mine got a pair in the 400s. I don't know if he'll be willing to take me so I can sell my lawns. If not, I may be PMing those who put up offers and see if they're still available.

Hey Mystic - sorry to hear that.
It looks like I've got a pair of floor tickets ($300 for the pair). I won't know for sure until later this week though. Buying them through a stranger in the GTA so nothing is certain yet.
BUT...if they materialize (and I suspect they will) then I've got a pair of tickets in section 402 I'll be parting with for face value. If you're interested (hey, better than lawns!) they've got your name on them. Let me know when you're shit gets settled.
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
Got to love my douchebag friend....I get floors, and he is the biggest Tool fan that I know, and when i see him this weekend to tell him the glorious news that he is "the one" that I will take to see Tool from right up close in a sick venue like the ampitheatre.....he says he's not sure if he can go, because his bandmates tried to get tickets for him and it fell through and he doesnt feel right going if they cant go.
fucking douche.
he better decide soon or ill drag a lesser tool fan friend.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard all month (a close second is a few of hennifers posts). You should take someone else regardless of what he decides.
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
i've used best available before and have got as close as 10th row. there must be some sort of logic to it, maybe they mean best available for each section? like front row for nosebleed seats they consider to be better than 50th row on the floor so they give you that instead? maybe that's how they do it.

Actually, my husband did.
But my first attempt, also using best available right when tickets went on sale, got me 400-levels, which i tossed back.
I was able to pull up the back of the 200's, again using best available, around 10:01am, but i also tossed those back because I knew we had floors. (or atleast, we were pretty sure -- like many others, we had a problem on the processing page as well, it took several nerve-wracking minutes for payment to go through... from reading posts above, it looks like we were lucky the order went through.)
If I'd know people here were going to get skunked by TM, I would have purchased those 200's and sold them at face. Sorry!!
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
I emailed TM to tell them they blow, and that "Best Available" is ass, and they replied (paraphrasing here):
It works. When you hit "Best Available", you get 'em. The reason you saw 300's available later was because at the moment you hit "Best Available" those 300's were in someone else's hands (basket) and the best we had was section 402. Then people release tickets they had selected, so "Best Availble" is ever-changing, hence your finding of 4 tickets in level 300 after you had already purchased level 400.

You know, i'm pretty sure thats how it works and I think the best available does work. It is only a question of luck. I have obtained 200s using best available after getting lawns from it .... My friend got 300s, while my other friends fot 400s ...
It's just luck ... and believe me ticketmaster does not blow ... well at least not comapred to what we have here in Quebec which is called Admission.
NOW THEY SUCK. I was 2nd in line at an outlet for 2 Radiohead shows in a venue of about 3000's. No one at the outlet got tickets. We were there since 6 o clock AM. And my other friends, who were at other outlets, told me no one got tickets there either. In the mean time, one of my best buds brother scores 2 tickets on the internet because they FUCKING RESERVE seats for the net ... ....
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
Hey everyone. Long time reader, first time poster.
Looks like a lot of people were screwed by the oh so reliable Ticketmaster and it's awesome service. It's happened to me for other concerts but thankfully it didn't this time around. I scored Section 301 at 10:00am on the website.
Now the 2 month wait begins... ugh.
Can't wait though for show #2. My first time seeing them was way back in 2001 at Edgefest. It was a great set but the way the day unfolded and ended made it completely disappointing (those who were there will know what I'm talking about). Great to know we won't have those problems this time around.
Re: 2006/09/23 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
i need some advice from somebody, please...
i got lawn tickets, row 4 on the lawn. now, how shitty IS this? i mean, i'd like to be able to see the band somewhat, and i definetely wanna hear the music clearly. should i hold on to my lawns, or try to get some floor tickets off of ebay? this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and i dont wanna fuck it up. so yeah, some advice from you guys on what to do would be much appreciated. thanks..
