Hey, I'm from the Twin Cities too, and I will make damn certain I'm NOWHERE near a radio on Sunday night at 10:30pm. I've made it too damn far, and held out long enough, to ruin my May 2nd experience by listening to this album over the fucking radio.

=]

You should just wait it out as well. You'll be able to purchase it 26 hours later at midnight sales at small records stores around the Twin Cities.

Best wishes to you though, whatever you decide to do.

Have you ever listened to 93x before ? :P

The "CD download" is just the title of that section of their air play. They pick a band, and one of their albums, and play it front to back. There's no downloading involved ;p

Sidenote, 93x has an event they do every night called the Cagematch at 9. Essentially, it puts new songs against each other, which people can vote for, to potentially be put into rotation on the air.

Vicarious started last week and crushed the first two bands, so they pitted 46&2 against Vicarious, and I think more Tool songs the rest of the week :P

I didn't check up and see what songs won where, but funny enough to see a band play against itself.

Here in Michigan, z93 does that but I don't think it's called Cagematch.

Haha, a couple nights ago, I was headed home and this poppy numetal station 94.5 "the buzz" was doing their nightly cagematch-like event, and It was actually The Pot and some song by some local band. The local band's song wasnt horrible, but it didnt know what league it was going up against, it was obvious. All of the voters that they recorded calling in to vote all voted for this local band, it was stupid, because it was nothing more than a local band getting their high school friends together to all call and swamp the vote. It was rather hilarious, and sad about the state of radio.

I listen to 93x but haven't caught any of the "sunday night cd downloads" yet. Are they without commercial breaks by chance?

Also, did anyone catch that they are having a wet t-shirt for tool tickets contest? O_o Anyone sending their girl? :D

On Q101 in Chicago they are doing this battle between Pearl Jam and Tool since both their albums come out May 2nd. They pick a Tool song and a Pearl Jam song and you can text them for which one you want to hear. It's pretty sweet because they pick a random texter to get both albums before they are released and you get entered for a chance at a grand prize of seeing both Tool and Pearl Jam when they come to Chicago. The promo is pretty funny with Maynard and Eddie Vedder saying hi and then getting into a bitch slapping contest.

I can't stand that station, and they are actually why I no longer listen to the radio. But, I can agree wholeheartedly. Radio is crap.
