Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I agree, a full tour is too much, but i hope for maybe a 5 or 6 city USA tour and then a few international. I'd break my bank to see them play, debt til i die, it'd be worth it, totally fucking worth.

I'm fairly sure that something will happen on the 17th, and TA members will be the first to know about it.
10,000 Days released on vinyl?
the band is announcing break-up?
justin is getting married?
my first day of class? no that was actually yesterday.
oh well, i guess i'll just have to wait...

Zep is having a band meeting this month as reported in Rolling Shit magazine. No tour has been discussed thus far. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have dates booked through June. Their album, Raising Sand, is pretty damn stellar. The two of them will be at Bonnaroo, not Zep, but good stuff in its own right.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
As long as we're dreaming. Its a live album recorded during the last tour. This being the reason for the same set list every night so they can pick the best performances.

That would be great, but no one ever remarked seeing cameras set up during any of their shows on 10,000 days tour. I remember EVERYONE posting about cameras and MJK remarks about recording during the last 6 shows of Lateralus.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Actually, there was a very professional video camera at the San Francisco show. It was mounted right on top of the soundboard equipment. But I was too far away to tell if it was on or off. And no, I'm not making this up...I haven't posted in a while, so I'm not just going around posting nonsense. I'm sure others from San Francisco can confirm.
I only saw only camera though, which could be problematic for a quality live DVD. Usually you need at least 3, I suppose.

Almost all of the "10,000 Days Tour" shows were recorded with a single camera, but none of them were recorded with more than that.
There was one "pro-sumer" camera at the soundboard area, un-manned in a wide shot of the entire stage area for "archival purposes", and so the band could occasionaly see what it looks like from out there if they wanted to watch one.

The 17th will be when tickets for make up shows in Missoula and San Antonio go on sale. All the rest of the newsletter is probably total bullshit, but being that those 2 shows were canceled due to illness it isn't too far fetched to at least believe that portion of it.

San Antonio was eventually made up, albeit a year later and Missoula got 100% screwed over. His newsletter is bullshit as always.

Dude, much as I wish you were right about this, you're not. The tour is over.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Here's something I find rather amusing:
I was just listening to a certain recording of their show at Bonnaroo (how I wish it was soundboard, and mastered, etc.) once again. Following what I'm positive was and still is the greatest performance of Jambi to date, MJK says, "had a shower earlier... [it] felt great... even used soap... air conditioned trailer. Jealous?". Immediately following that one can hear two distinctly different responses from who were apparently two very different people. Off to the right, a very lovely-sounding gal can be heard, responding with, "yeah!". Off to the left, at almost the exact same time, a very pissed off man can be heard responding by shouting out a big, "FUCK YOU!".

I haven't read this whole thread, but has anyone considered that the news this week might have something to do with The Pot video? Weren't they shooting it about a year ago?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
hmmm...i never even considered the video for the pot....but i guess its certainly a possibility....blair said they were working on it over the holidays (back in 2006)..so yes, over a year ago...then again blair says a lot of things......whatever it is, we'll know in 3 more days

I don't believe everything i download on this fucking thing we call the "world wide web" but i downloaded a Video for The Pot, it was a cartoon of this farmer trying to water his crops with everything he could, and nothing was working expect his tears, What that about, The Pot was playing over it, Qued with the music.

I'd say if it is a recording of the SF Show, the bootleg has it covered :)
This thing has to be from a soundboard...no way NO FUCKING WAY any camera mic would pick up that much of a frequency range and not fart out like a subway pizza mixed with a Full Throttle. So glad about that show though, it was seriously a dream come true. (minus the grudge ;)
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
alright you code breakers... WTF is blair talking about? i don't get it. is the band censoring him? ("...was latter deemed by certain individuals to be a bit too revealing in certain matters...")

He probably alluded to "something" that the band wasn't comfortable releasing yet.
Not everything Blair says is full of shit: He almost always puts at least one small peice of valid information into a huge "coded" statement.
Though, very often that small piece of information is very insignificant...

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
It definitely seems like a Missoula make up date is gonna happen, no relevance to me being in south Mississippi, but I have no idea what else, thats probably it. Maybe the fine folks of Missoula will get some different material with the band having a break and all. That would be cool for them.
Peace people. Love yall
