Anyway, not that it's really news or anything but over on Alan Jones' website he confirms Tool will be in Guitar Hero 4. http://attorneyalanjones.com/
Disappointed.

Guitar Hero...aren't the songs all covers?
Not the real tunes, right?
Zep took a pass on this one.
And the game is basically 'Simon' with rock tune covers instead of Close Encounters of the Third Kind sounds.
I love the idea of Aerosmith 'Rocks' getting incorporated into some modern interactive thing, but the game itself seems kinda stupid. I think it's better to go ride your bike and listen to the songs than it is to play the color coordination game in front of a tv.

Not really into video games, but I was just reading about Metallica's new sure-to-be-lame album 'Death Magnetic' and how it's release this fall is going to correspond with Guitar Hero 3 (i.e. released on the same day), and people who buy GH3 can download the entire new Metallica album... Blah, blah, blah, the point is, if GH3 doesn't even come out until this Fall, does that mean GH4 won't be out unit Fall 2009?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I wonder what song it would be. If I had to guess, it'd be Jambi. Tool is not going to give Guitar Hero a brand new or unreleased song, and I can't think of many Tool songs that seem like they'd be fun to play on Guitar Hero. As guitar driven as they are, they're cock-rock factor is pretty low.

Depends on what the artist wants or what they'll charge for the real thing. Some are covers. Some are the actual band. As always it comes down to money.

this thursday 7-24, i will be heading to san diego for a baseball tourney my son will be playing in. you can bet your bottom dollar that the wife and i will definately make the trip to cox arena to just go and sit outside and reflect on both shows we went to. it seems like yesterday but an eternity at the same time. these were my wife's first two tool shows and needless to say she has become quite the fan! the second night was an amazing show...with the debut of pushit....can't wait to sit down and take a puff and let the memories come rushin back!! life is good...life is real fuckin good
if you go there, you skip the intro and then you wait a little for the homepage... and then click on the eye of the snake...
there is the direct link to dwnld the dvd (filmed with 2 amatorial cameras) of the entire tool performance at the independent days festival in Italy, when they played before NIN.
the quality is very very good for being just a bootleg. Surely nothing compared to what an official dvd could be, but it's for free and you might enjoy it

Sorry to say this, but that show was completely bad, considering that was in italy, but thanks for the effort! I think is also on U-Tube!

???? Are you kidding? That show was great. For example it's one of the few with Maynard singing the last part of Vicarious. They simply overcame Nine Inch Nails that played later that night.
It's not on youtube anyway, not with this two cameras version.

Remember this post, I think it was back in April. Wonder if they were referring to Guitar Hero 4. If so, that'd be kind of anti-climactic.

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but i think that the Tool concerts in italy where not so great after all! For example the one on Rome and Milan on june 2006 where completely SHIT! Maynard sing all the time with the back turned on the Stupid crowd that was still using flash lights, even he tells them to stop it! About the ID festival, i don't care about NIN, so Tool for me can overcame everyone! hey this is just my opinion so no hard feelings, and i think im gonna dwnld the bootleg after all, the site is GREAT btw! Are you one of the 2 recorder?

Seems like you have an amazing night in Rome! Good for you..., btw did you travel from colorado to Rome only to see Tool on this gig? That's lot of fun!
Is that some of the revolutionary stuff that you mentioned a while ago junior? I'm not sure if it was here or on TA, But I remember reading somewhere you saying there was a company developing revolutionary lighting stuff, and that you hoped Tool would come back soon so they can use it.
Either was, this NIN stuff is nuts!! I hope they make to AUS with that show

If you get MTV HD keep an eye out for the NIN concert, it was on a few days ago so I imagine it will air again pretty soon.
The lighting and the screens that go down in front of the band with the visuals displayed on them are nice in HD.

Saw an ad on tv saying "special guest" with NIN. I'm going to guess Les Claypool for the hell of it, it is bay area!
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Is NIN still worth seeing nowadays? I've only seen them once, and that was a long time ago when they were touring with A Perfect Circle before the release of Mer De Noms.
I live in Colorado and they're coming to Red Rocks soon. It's sold out. I'm debating whether it's worth it to pay for some expensive tickets on craigslist. Has anyone seen them recently?
PS: I'm seeing the Melvins tomorrow night at the Ogden Theatre in Denver (per Junior's recommendation)

Judging from what I saw on the MTVHD concert and that YouTube clip posted here. I'd say dropping a little extra $ to see them at a place like Red Rocks would be well worth it...
