I got one ticket for the saturday night show. I might possibly trade for those boston/yankee tickets. When/where/section are they for? and how many?

p.s. your PM box is full.

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

also, is selling a set of two for 400 a ripoff? considering i myself am going to be buying tickets at about 550-700 for a set? Basically me and my mate agreed that up to 200 out of pocket each was worth trying to get the best seats we can for at least one if not both shows. in your humble opinion is this an ethical business activity or am i just justifying it to myself?

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

Hey, maybe this has been discussed, but I don't feel like browsing all those 27 pages.

I believe there was a huge error with my order. I was billed 3 times on my credit card: one shot 155$, one shot 155$ and one shot 311$ (in canadian money). I only bought 4 tickets (which would either equal the 2 first billings OR the last one, but NOT both). Looks like I was billed twice the price I'm supposed to pay. Now what I assume is that some of the few first orders I tried to place that got cancelled in the way due to timing out were billed somehow, but I wasn't emailed a confirmation for those tickets, so I was just billed but I didn't get those tickets!!

Did this happen to anyone else??? I tried to email City Center about it 2 days ago, still haven't received an answer.

I assume the boston-yankee is at yankee stadium?

edit: yep it is. I'll let you know if I would want to trade.

Please let me know as soon as you do that you have a spare. I've been listening to Tool for most of my life thanks to my brother, and he has gotten to see them, but i have yet to. Please let me know, thank you

You're taking opportunities away from real tool fans who got screwed over in the end because we couldn't get tix, and are now paying more than we would have liked to see one of our favorite bands. If you didn't do that and are just crying because you are in the same boat as him and many other tool fans, then i apologize, but those of you that did that, and you are out there, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

honestly, i pondered doing that (trying to get extra to sell to pay for my trip) and decided that it was just wrong, regardless of if i sold them cheaper then everyone else or not. no i simply have some decent tickets but am willing to spend some extra money to get better ones, while selling my original for an inflated but still reasonable in comparison to what is going on ebay price to someone who loves the music as much as I. I just saw a pair in the same row go for 700 dollars, so no i do not feel bad selling them for 400 dollars.... as said before, anyone going should meet up at the cosm tour before the show, we can all go grab a brew or a smoke afterwards. and the moment i get my new tickets in hand, my mezzazine seats will be available for purchase (at the show only) champion has first dibs and dloozer (sp?) has 2nd if they still want them.

and to any who are having problems finding tickets, have faith.. i am also interested in forming a group of about 10 larger males, then scalping the scalpers at the show. (i.e. one or two of us talk to him, see what he has, listen to his price, act like we about to purchase, and then the other 8 walk up and inform him that he does'nt want to end up in a hospital and that we will pay 100 each and don't do this again).. anyone game?

haha thats the funniest idea Ive seen in a while, you looking to wind up with a bullet in you?

The scalpers here work in teams, there will be at least 5 black guys or Sopranos type white guys around you. Watch out that someone doesnt grab the cash out of your hands and runs with it. Also watch out about having your tickets there someone grabbing them from your hand, same story...

better shot might be to hang around outside and try to bribe the security or ticket checker to let you in, though this might be easier if it was a ga show...

yes i had thought of that, but the thing is , who is scarier, 5 or 6 criminals (they aren't going to shoot in broad daylight, the show is in the middle of a business/commerical corridor) or about 10 6foot+ 200 pound young men who are fanatical about the show in question?

scalpers are devious...you gotta be careful not to buy fake tickets outside the show...u gotta tell the scalper to comeup to the window with you to check em...my friend kate and i once bought 2 $95 dollar APC tickets for their minitour before 13th step came out and they were fake...talk about wanting to cry
also back in '01 i remember atleast 10 ppl not getting into the hammerstein show cuz they got sold fake tickets and ppl were crying and pissed, same goes with alot of shows

that's not nice. he should have come here and offered it to a fan for face value. that's what i did and i feel damn good about it! making other fans happy is what it's about, not making money! :<

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

so i think im about to win an auction for 540 (Please lord please) for better seats. as mentioned earlier i will be selling two tickets for 400 to the show on the 19th. they are mezz. row r in the center. am including a free beer when you meet me before the show, some have shown interest, anyone else? am going to try and do the same for the 20th (grand tier ticks.. if lucky) and will sell my other set for 400 if that happens.

to those who are yapping, um, i use to be as idealistic as that, then i got a job, moved out of my parents house, and understand that self interest is not bad, when tempered with a healthy concern for others. selling my old tickets for a portion of what im paying for better ones is not wrong. especially considering the markup is barely half of what ebay is doing..
that is all,

that is all,
um, i'm a 27 year old mother who lives alone on one job.
sometimes selflessness is more rewarding than extra money.
i like the feeling when i get all teary eyed when i think of 2 people who are now going to the shows who might not have been.
either way, whatever.

which is to say, there is no excuse, just an attempt to explain my reasoning. excuses are for when you feel that youve done something wrong, or not done something right. for those who feel that any markup of tickets which are selling for 1000% markups are thieves, um, tool makes money off their albums, their shows, and their merchandise, they are millionaires, but still like to see themselves compensated. i am a lowly college graduate who is trying to scratch someones back while they scratch mine.

for those who have sold their tickets at face value, bravo i wish i could too, if i had extra i prolly would. but otherwise, whomever does choose to purchase mine will have obviously been thankful to only pay 400 instead of whatever the leeches on ebay charge them, i just went through that ringer,, yarggg, but grand tier is going to be nice, worth the extra $$$ for sure.

also, who all is going to cosm on sat.? we should all meet up and converse, perhaps set up a fun time after the show, ill be travelling with my friend "psy", and he loves to meet new people, or old friends.

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

and one more thought.. selflessness is anthema to independent thinking, and impossible under the terms which we humans approach the world. regardless of personal profit, you get the reward of feeling good. some can accept that as payment for services rendered, others cannot. but do not assume that anyone has ever engaged in a selfless act besides maybe, just maybe, jesus, and thats only if you believe the bible. the buddha comes to mind too, but then again, he was rebelling against an entire religious system which he felt trapped his fellow man and himself, many thoughts on this eve. i knew that this board contained a lot of members who exist in a different realm then i, but seriously folks, do not assume that what is right and good for you is fair or right for any other. universal moral imperatives are always universally wrong.

HAHA, Dude you guessed it! I am a peace loving, ticket-giving-away hippie. If you ask for a miracle you shall receive, I got a miracle for the Chicago show! Also I live and work in NY on my own, pay off my mortgage on time every month, contribute to my fathers stash of cash for his old age and even throw some bucks for the Church on Sunday. Ever heard of do unto others as you would have them do unto you?

to those who are yapping, um, i use to be as idealistic as that, then i got a job, moved out of my parents house, and understand that self interest is not bad, when tempered with a healthy concern for others. selling my old tickets for a portion of what im paying for better ones is not wrong. especially considering the markup is barely half of what ebay is doing..
that is all,
Why should others be charged because you want to pay $540 for better seats in a tiny theater? Since you "got a job," maybe you don't need the extra money? I hope you're close enough to hear MJK ridicule the scalpers and those who support them (you) and are them (you.)

edit: by the way, I don't think I want to be in the group of 10 douchebag meatheads getting Colombian necktied by scalpers in a NY alley, but anyone who wants to get some beer and hit up CoSM, preferrably far from anyone of this guy's ilk, we should definitely plan something as the dates draw near.

Re: 2006/05/19-20 - New York, NY - City Center

Maynards comments about buyers from ebay being cocksukers is such bullshit. He should go read the ebay listings before making such jerk off comments.
**** MOST sellers on ebay claim to be die hard fans.

It is these so called fans FUCKING all of us who couldnt get through the "ALL CIRCUITS ARE BUSY - PLEASE TRY YOUR CALL AGAIN LATER, MESSAGE U-R-EFFED-2" OR got "Page not displayed" on their Web SIte appaently hosted on a Tandy 9000.

In NY for instance, people were on line by Thursday. So what does that mean? That the only way you can go to see one of these great shows is if you could sleep in the street for two days? FUCK MAYNARD. I think I am going to give my tickets that I got on EBAY to the smelliest bums I can find so he can smell the piss.

Seriously, if MAynard should be pissed at anyone, it's the SELLERS who are taking advantage of a terrible situation.

I don't read all of these crazy books and know all of this TOOL shit, I just LOVE music, and my favorite band happens to be TOOL. I LOVE their MUSIC, NOT THEM. I could give a shit about all of the other crap they believe in, stand for, or care about. I just want to go see a good show, thats it.

You know, I was really close to never listening to them again when they came out with that TOOL ARMY Bullshit. I mean really people, A queer little TOOL Club, do we get a decoder ring? They charge you to see and read things you cant get otherwise - I'm sorry, who are the TOOL COCK SUCKERS?
