Hi guys, I saw the show in Paris, and to be honest I've been quite disapointed compared to some videos I saw or bootleg I heard of previous shows (especially Lateralus tour)....I think the interaction with the public was kind of missing even if Lateralus totally blew me away !
I was just wondering if you guys think that Tool will change their setlist / show when they come back ? I had a look at previous tours and didn't see big differences.... (had a look at 2001/2002 tour)

the ideal setlist for me would be 11/16/2002 but since that one has no new work i'll settle for

The above set list probably runs into well over 2 hours and I just arranged it according to album. I don't care what order I get the songs as long as I get to hear them. Third Eye and/or Wings would be a great way to close the concert IMO. I wonder if they've ever played Die Eier von Satan live?

and I'm a little disappointed, I can't tell with the newsletter if they plan on playing Wings or not. They better... but it just sounds so sarcastic.

That would be pretty fucking amazing if they decided to do a King Crimson cover...Dinosaur or People off THRAK would be insane...can u imagine Justin doing the orgasmic bass on this??
At the last few shows on the European leg, they mixed the set list up a bit with the addition of Opiate. Let's hope they add in some other old stuff for this next leg of the tour. I' ve got tix to see them twice......so hope for variety.
H.? Patient? Reflection / Triad anyone?

I can't be arsed to work it all out but i guess this would probably be the longest show ever... so i guess maynard would be allowed a break or two to sort himself out. However, they probably wont even play half of these epics! Fucking Tool :@.
edit: get lateralus in there ffs!

That's an awesome setlist dude, fucking perfect. You've got Third Eye twice - is that intentional? I would fucking love it if this was the set. Actually, I would add Sober - so amazing live.

hah no it wasn't intentional but meh everyone loves a bit of symettry in their shows right! :D

This is the million dollar question for me too. As much as I loved the small theater show, big $$ for scalped tickets and a short setlist made me wonder if I should go again.
I'm hoping this time around will be longer, with more songs (obviously) and some new additions. 10,000 days would be worth it.
I'll have to start watching setlists once the tour begins.
I liked the setlist on Rock Am Ring. But after Dusseldorf and Amsterdam with almost the same setlist I got kinda bored with it. There is always something to bitch or complain about but my ideal setlist would be a bit like this. As everyone can see, a bit longer won't be a luxury. They always did in the past so why the short sets nowadays?? Hoping for a total new setlist in Rotterdam and Oberhausen later this year.
Anyway, my setlist..
Short Intro
Hooker with a Penis
Jambi
46&2
Eon Blue/The Patient
Opiate
Vicarious
Wings for Marie/10000 days
Eulogy

I really do think this is quite a well-balanced set and I did think over it for awhile lol.
If they ever do decide to play something like this it would be one hell of an experience!
At their last show they played seven singles---BORING! The less singles they play the better. i've seen them enough times on youtube and various other sites. I know you can't compare the quality, but I'd rather hear more obscured songs like swam song.

That setlist is totally doable for them at this stage, except I'd say (realistically) not Ticks & Leeches and Eon Blue Apocalyse/The Patient. That would trim the set to roughly a very reasonable 2 hours. Perfectly good.
I'm flying halfway across the planet from Alaska to NY to watch the East Rutherford, NJ show @ the Continental Arena in October and I'd love nothing more then to see Ticks & Leeches live, megaphone or not, since it is the second to last show of this leg of the tour and all. :D
Disclaimer: Yes, I know Tool rarely (read: never) plays this song live because of the strain it puts on Maynard's voice. Thank you in advance for pointing that out. ;)
I'm hoping they'll play Wings/10,000 Days, but the answer to the question in the new Newsletter seemed very sarcastic.
Its odd, because if it really is their "best song ever" as they claim, they would play it (unless of course its to personal for MJK). I thought I heard a rumor that they did it during a soundcheck one day, not for an audience but for rehearsal purposes.

Wings for Marie -- (~6 min)
10,000 Days -- (~11 min)
Right in Two -- (~9 min)
Ticks & Leeches -- (~8 min)
Total there should be about 2 hours. Perfect!
A guy can dream, heheh.
I hope they dont do Ticks and Leeches at your concert because it would kill Maynards voice for October 7th and I'm going to that concert....It would be really cool if you got to see it tho
They played Ticks and Leeches in Europe on a few of the ozzfest dates. Maynard used some weird thing to make his voice like that. It is not much harder then say the ending of Vicarious, The Pot or parts of Parabola..
Anyway I saw them play the song in Holland at Ozzfest and it was really amazing. It would be cool to see it back on the setlist for some of the shows. Rather hear like The Grudge or The Patient again if it comes to the Lateralus record though.
1) Disposition (Jam intro preceding)
