Still hungry?

In my mind the "crys of the carrots" is a piece of sarcasm aimed at vegetarians who don't eat meat because it is cruel. Why is it less cruel to take the life of vegetables and plant-life than it is of animals? We as humans must feed to sustain ourselves, and the reason we do so on cows, chickens, pigs, brocoli, carrots and the like, is that these forms of life have little or no value to us. Why? Because they are lower-life than us. They do not share our intellect, our vision or lead our lifestyles. Therefore they are in a position for us to impose our will upon them, and are vulnerable to fill whatever need we see fit. They are ours for the taking, and this is necessary. After about 9 minutes of crickets chirping the song changes pitch to throw this analogy at us from another angle. The man talking is a killer, and we in society deem that as wrong(as some see eating meat as wrong) But to a man who murders, his victims are lower than him. They do not share his intellect, or his visions or lead his lifestyle, and therefore have little or no value in his eyes. They are his for the taking and this is necessary. Just as us feeding on lower-life to sustain ourselves, he is feeding on what he has deemed lower life to sustain his own needs. Each death makes room for a new life, and each new life is a step towards death. And on and on and so forth. A perfect circle.
