Heavy Air and Coronary Occlusions

The man gesticulated in quick bursts as he paced around a fire.

He spoke aloud, with only his flickering shadow to hear:

" Such a multitude of forces weighs upon my mind, compelling me into the action of their agenda. Which of these forces can I claim as my heart's truest desire?"

With dramatic enactment, and his silhouette following without a lag, he crouches, tightens his hand into a fist, and says:

" This tension grips my ticker, restricting its filling and radiating numbness through my chest. Twisting and torquing my viscera into debilitation."

He falls to one knee, hand hard to chest, grimacing in obvious despair, panting and exhaling:

" This. . . . .is the climax. . . . . of human. . . . experience."

" A pain. . . "

He shuffles his other knee down to the ground and faces the flames, his skin ruborous and diaphoretic, sweltering from a fire both inside and out.

" So shearing. . . . so enduring. . . . and un. . . . . conquerable."

Spittle flying from his lips. . . he screams recurrently into the bright glow:

" SIIIIILENCCCCCE. . . . " he rips the talisman out from round his neck

"IS THE ONLY. . . " he closes his eyes and speaks softer

" REFUGE. . . " out-stretching his arms and now whispering to his-self

"FROM THIS SPELL."

He grips his only possession and falls, crucified, into the flames.

The fire roars, crackles, and consumes; indifferent. .. and without relent.

Ashes drift upwards, exhausting briskly into the cool night air like his final exhale, high up above the tree tops. . . into the infinite jetstream of miscellaneous particles, unclaimed, untamed, and un-named.

Re: Heavy Air and Coronary Occlusions

"Things are falling down on me
Heavy things I could not see
When I finally came around
Something small would pin me down
When I tried to step aside
I moved to where they hoped I'd be

Stumbling as I fall from grace
She needs my vision to replace
Her ailing sight throughout the night
Leaving two holes in my face"
