I look at the clock and see 1:05, 6:38, 12:24, and sometimes 12:34, or sometimes 11:11. you're going to see it eventually...

Numbers are meaningful and to go to that much touble to get the song that length isn't worth it for a joke.

"Oh, I'm gonna fuck with my fans make 'em think there's something more to our music and shit when were all really just cynical pranksters"

I think that this is stupid to believe and sadly some actually believe that TOOL just fucks with people to Fuck with people and that there against drugs and shit and shit and shit, idk, fuck.

really, those new age sites are kinda lame. However they do hold information that isn't easily accessible in it's original form. You have to continue digging after you find the first piece of gold if you want the whole treasure.

Kinda like when you buy a new car, you start to notice that same model everywhere.

I'm sorry, you're right. The secret to immortality actually IS within Tool's music and they are all actually gods, or deities if you will, walking this mortal planet.

After years and years of them flat out saying to quit over-analyzing things and not to take everything so damn seriously, the years of playing pranks, cracking wise ass jokes and April Fools. A Hitler-esque rant that's actually a recipe for cookies. Maynard flat out saying on several occasions that people take their music far too serious and they mostly just get an idea and incorporate it into the music. Hmm, the working title for Lateralus was 987 simply because of the time signature until a friend of theirs actually told them about it being like a fibonacci sequence hence creating a spiral.

You're right moron. It's utterly impossible that they just thought it would be cool to make the song last exactly at 11:11 because the number just so happens to have occult and/or new age references.

While they sit back and laugh at the dumbass fans like you that take it sooo seriously.

It's one thing to be inspired by their music and to open your mind to learning new things but it's entirely borderline mentally and/or emotionally unstable to take it as serious as some of you fans do.

Case and point.

fuck inner, your right, I'm a moron for thinking the way I do, or do you actually know how I think...? you don't because your just talking about yourself five years ago before you woke up and became the ultimate cynic and asshole because that's what you think tool is doing.

I actually used to think tool was complete shit when I was studying jazz and then had way to many synchronicities with their music (or coincidences as you call them) to marginalize them anymore and really couldn't put them down,

I don't think they're completely aware of what their doing because they're artist and they just channel things from the collective psyche and stuff. So really you much more of a fan boy than me, I've only followed them since 10,000 days, so fuck off and think about who your talking to before you just go projecting your own self hatred all over these boards.

Something that I found more interesting... Since I was 15, I've seen the number 421 everywhere. I constantly wake up at night at exactly 4:21. People try to brush it off as being close to 420... but that would be like noticing 667 more than 666. I see it on houses, license plates... wherever numbers are present, my brain seems to pick it out for no apparent reason.. And on Tools article in Revolver in 2006, the clock was clearly set at 4:21....

hmm

well, first three posts in this thread was posted 09-09-2008, Your_noose's post 05:05 pm..

but about the other 10 posts.. well i guess the angels were sleeping. So yeah, the chance of getting same number as in XX = YY, where XX is 24 hours and YY is minutes, is 2%.

Is it because I'm Irish that I always make a wish when I see 11:11 on a digital clock?
Where the fuck did I pick up the habit?
Or, is that when?

I've been thinking about how to reply to this because I looked over what I had written and found many embarrassing grammar mistakes that really seemed to take away from anything I might have said. Also, I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic and whatnot, but if your being sincere then I'm glad to unknowingly do my part in connecting links on the chain. I could have never foreseen that this might have resonated with anyone, and I am curious as to how it did?

Also, I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic and whatnot, but if your being sincere then I'm glad to unknowingly do my part in connecting links on the chain. I could have never foreseen that this might have resonated with anyone, and I am curious as to how it did?
I've been researching channeling for a bit, so that was interesting that you mentioned that, and i have wondered the same for years, but i just never knew the correct name for it. Also as a musician and i dabble a bit in art, there are times where something just comes through that is too universally true to be from within, almost as though anyone can tap into this proverbial paint bucket of 'truth' and use that for inspiration.

Keep in mind that the winter solstice in 2012 occurs at 11:11AM(Farthest point from sun in US), correlating to the Mayan "rebirth".

11:11 is more than just a coincidence, there is huge meaning, and not just the bullshit you get from dumbfucks with no life as well as the dumbfucks with no brains.

what do you think the meaning is?

I'm really not sure about it and wonder if the meaning it carries could be carried by another number.

It breaks down to the question, "how much of this reality is a construct of our own creation and how much, if any can be empirically deciphered objectively?"

I'm about to go on two separate trips. Each of them are exactly 11 hours in the opposite directions. I was born at 11:11Pm on August 14th, 1986. One time when I went bowling, I bowled three games in a row... 111 each.

I know this seems like a total asshole sarcastic response to the topic, but all of this is true. I have yet to figure out any inherent significance in it. Sometimes when I have syncronicity episodes... I get a really present, and very random ringing in my ears. Does anyone else get this?

I think it's just the way the human brain perceives and picks up on syncronicity. It just kind of sticks out. People will make a signifigance out of any and everything they want.

this is true. there are 1,111 spritual guardians looking over us, and they convey their message of love by showing us 11:11 on clocks at random times. this is a legitimate religion.

Last night, I made our Christmas party wait until 11:11PM for the gift exchange.
Someone asked why?
Someone else said, "That's when wishes come true."
I smiled.
And five minutes later I opened my first present and received a Tool t-shirt from the 10K tour. Cool.

I once got me a Tool shirt for Xmas a few years back. It was the one with the big phallic wrench on the back of it. It was an early present from myself to myself with money someone had given me. Then you know what happened? My cat clawed a great big hole in it on Xmas Eve, and I had to run run run to get another one cos I was so mad, and my mum and I got in a fight and she yelled at me and took a swing at me so I clocked her in the jaw.

Worst Christmas evar.

Mine's of the over-being by Alex Grey.
My cat likes it.

However, Christmas, meh.

Better luck this year, eh.
