Generally in the past when I've had this much trouble figuring out a Maynard lyric (such as the word "Vulnerable" in the APC song Brena) it's typically because it's one single word, spread out over several syllables. I'm thinking it's 1-2 words, with the first word starting with a "G". Outside of that I really have no clue.

What it sounds like to me is "God jop-a-lize", almost like the second half of the word monopolize.

Any thoughts?

i am almost sure that maynard would change-up lyrics at a live show-either on purpose or by accident.
i do hear the ganja part but i can't believe maynard would write a cheesy lyric like that.

I thought I heard him say that a few times too. "I'm balls deep in muddy waters..." Sometimes I don't hear the "m" sound in "I'm" though.

I never gave it that close of a listen, but I thought he says "packed up with lies."

I always thought that he said something else in Brena also, but once I got "vulnerable" I just knew that was it. There was another part that I always disagreed, but never posted on a site or anything. Everywhere I've looked for the lyrics they say, "Show me lonely and show me openings to bring me closer to you..." I always thought it was "Show me a way in, show me openings to bring me closer to you..." Not sure if this was ever cleared up in any thread anywhere, but since Brena was mentioned here, I thought I'd throw my pennies at it. :)

After listening and thinking a lot about it, I've decided the last line is Ganja, Puh-lease.

It makes sense, basically he's saying "You were high? yeah right, you're just out of your head"

As if they were using "the Pot" as an excuse to justify the hypocracy, and Maynard responds "Ganja? Please... you must have been out your mind"

My tip is that he's saying something along the lines of "conjure up a lie" or "caught'ya up with lies" singing it intentional like "Ganja", but I'm really getting desperate at this one.

My interpretation anyway. The only thing I'm really shady on is the whole "weep in shades of chosen indigo." When I use WMP and slow it down, it doesn't sound like chosen and indigo are the words he's saying.

I spilled my head with this line years, from "change your clothes" to "change all chosen into gold", and trust me, I think it's "weep in shades of chosen indigo".

I agree with everything here except "police" I think it's please, said with puh-lease. Not sure what "Ganja police" are unless he's talking about ATF officers. I suppose he could be, he was recently spotted with an ATF shirt and the T is crossed off I assume because he doesn't smoke or like it. The reports of him complaining about audience smoke are also in.

Terry is quite the sensitive one and you have to watch out for him. I wouldn't worry too much about him. His lyrical guesses are likely not so good due to the fact he's German and English is likely a second language for him. No hate here Terry, just objective reasoning on my part.

What's missing is whatever he says in referrence to the judge in the scenario. I suspect it may be reaper. Just as the Reaper doesn't discriminate, the narrator is stating that if the judge if going to hang him, he shouldn't be arguing verbal semantics. Stating something was 'borrowed' when everyone knows the judge meant 'stolen'.

"Liar, lawyer, mirror for ya? what's the difference?" Second time. You cannot argue with your reflection since it is the truth of your being. Lawyers are professional liars. There is no difference. The narrator is asking why everyone else can't see that.

"Kangaroo done hung the jury with the innocent". I don't understand why it would be a single juror, and the phrase 'hung jury' should fit there. I think Maynard slurs/trails off at the end. It seems this is how he means to sing The Pot because he slurs many words to some extent.

"Eyeballs-deep in muddy waters". Up to his eyeballs in shit for sure but the first iteration of this at the beginning definately sounds like 'eyeball' or 'I hold' or something else.

While "ganja police" fits and sounds right I think his final words are "Ganja?! Puh-lease!". It ends with his total frustration over the false accusations and hypocritical goings-on in court.

I am positive "weeping shades of chosen indigo" is incorrect.
I hear "weeping tears". The pronunciation of the T isnt a hard sound but a softer, slurred 'ch' sound.

Indigo nowadays is achieved synthetically. It is not natural. Hence, synthetic tears.. which ties directly into lemon juice in the eye producing fake tears.
I see no reason for the word 'chosen'.

People have accepted 'shades of chosen' for too long and it is NOT right.

I won't claim to be certain that it's "shades", but there seems to be a definite long-'A' vowel sound on this word that makes "tears" unlikely, IMO.
