When someone suggested "reversing" I was like, that's brilliant. But when I listened, the phonetics don't really match up. The word he says sounds more like "save" (as in save or savior), not sing
Also, there is not even close to a definite 't' sound, in the studio, live, or make-believe recordings of this song. It's not stow, as much sense as it would make, sorry.

How does reply #765 on page 20 compare to reply #742 on page 19?

Terry, I completely understand what you're saying. Having read your past posts, you are apparently big on pronounciation. But, the reason I put the "d" at the end of 'conjured' was only because it matches the past tense of the other lines (....when you pissed....you must have been...) I don't actually hear a "d" here, I just thought it might have been skipped over and implied. Also, there is a very unmistakable "s" at the end of the line indicating a plural. Furthermore, if you say this line out loud and listen to yourself , it is pretty much inevitable that there will be an "a" sound within the transition from the "p" to the "l". Unless, of course, you isolate each word and pronounce them seperately, which to me is a bit uncomfortable.

Ganja A-Blaze

I've listened to the last two lines of 'the pot' many, many times and have finally decided that he's saying "got'cha for lies/ you must have been out your mind" --referring to the government/lawyers/liars/hypocrates he's been talking about. Listen to it again, to me it just makes alot more sense and fits in with the overall context alot better!

Snow makes perfect sence because in the dictionary it says that snow can be a slang term meaning to deceive or mislead. Haven't you ever heard of a Snow Job?Also I do not hear a 't' sound whatsoever

I'VE GOT IT!
I just now heard what MJK's saying at the end, and it makes PERFECT sense:
BUNCHA' BUL-LIES!
And going along with how Bill Hicks used to call the USA the bullies of the world... gee, I wonder what this song's aboot? heh, of course it wasn't such a mystery anyway, but hey.
Annnnd one more thing. Stow makes PERFECT sense as that whole verse is contradictory. Rob/stow, cards and glass/stones... good on ye'!

I interpret part of the song as "Piss all over my black head--oh"--and thus read a whole bunch of racial/political/carceral shit into my understanding of the song as a whole. Regardless of whether or not these are 'actual words' they have hightened my appreciation the song. I'd appreciate any thoughts. Peace.

Yeah, the pot calling the kettle black; we got that.
Along with all the other allusions to hypocrisy found in the song's lyrics, hence making it NOT simply about a black kettle.
Anyways, my whole point of initially posting a few posts back was to let everyone know what he's saying at the end... so I reiterate:
BUNCHA' BUL-LIES!
You must -- have been

The thing is... it could be either "steal borrow reaper saviour" or "steal borrow reversing your". You can't tell, you totally can't. I listened to various live concerts, he always sings it like it can be both. It could also be reefer.

if it's not reefer than it's reaper pronounced with a f in place of the p.

I forget who first suggested it, but I liked the "Gotcha for lies" idea.
"Ganja..." -maybe, "...police" -not bloody likely, unless he's pronouncing it "Ganja poLIZE" for some bizarre and inexplicable reason. Definitely something "...lies". I first thought "Gotta be lies" but now I prefer "Gotcha for lies". Still not sure though.

Re: 05 - The Pot lyrics
I forget who first suggested it, but I liked the "Gotcha for lies" idea.
"Ganja..." -maybe, "...police" -not bloody likely, unless he's pronouncing it "Ganja poLIZE" for some bizarre and inexplicable reason. Definitely something "...lies". I first thought "Gotta be lies" but now I prefer "Gotcha for lies". Still not sure though.

You have to take into consideration the way Maynard sings as well. He almost sings with a subtle accent, but doesn't talk with one. I had thought, if it was Ganja Police, he would pronounce it:
(Ganja Po-lice) Ganja Police.
"Lice" being referred to as the bug on your scalp.
I know it's different, be he does that sometimes.

Example please. Maybe I could buy into the "Ganja police" thing if someone could show me somewhere else where he mispronounces a word this badly.

Examples:
Listen to the way he says "Facade" in the song Eulogy.
Listen to how he says "Pushit at me" and "Pushit on me". He pronounces the "me", almost like "meh", of course speaking before the outro of the intro lyrics.
Another is in Hooker With A Penis. Give a listen to the way he says "Advise" in the lyrics "I've got some 'advise' for you little buddy.."
He makes words sound a certain way to tie together with the music in the song.
Take care,
-Andrew

I have read in the 'lyrics' section, a translation I think is totally incorrect.
I believe it is "when you pissed all over my back hill, you must have been high"
Not "my black kettle", sorry but that makes no sense.

This song, the whole meaning is about the pot who's calling the kettle black, but the pot is black too. It's a metaphor for hypocrism, the theme of the song. (A quote from "Easy journey to other planets", after the comment that one can fly to every planet he desires:) Of this there is no doubt.
