It does "make sense" but in too obvious of a way.

Now I admit some of it doesn't make the best sense (Can't ya puh-lease!???)
And I threw in "so bored of it" as I absolutely hear a "b" sound both studio & live, though I do like subordinant better.

If you were to speak with proper phonetics, which most of us don't really bother to do because we're all lazy, savior/saviour and save your aren't phonetically the same. You have savior, which ends in a "yer" sound, and save your which ends in a "yohr" sound.

Agree completely, it ends with "your shady inference." So rule out savior.

Very interesting thought; I see this song as a poke at Dubya and the state of our nation under Dubya; I can see that some people here are unwilling to accept this but that's probably part of the reason they've purposely kept it vague enough for other interpretations. They want to make a point but not come right out and alienate a good portion of their fan base, after all they are probably not averse to selling records and tickets to people from all sides of the fence. Plus why "date" the song. But the mirror line at 2:40 he just says, "mirror show me, what's the difference." Nothing's impossible but I doubt the line later becomes "mirror 4-year". If the purpose of using "mirror" is to refer to the 4-year terms rather than the "liar/lawyer" reflections, it should be there both times, shouldn't it?

But I'm hearing the "v" sound before "your" like the word "savior" (haha, reminds me of my earlier post) so I think it's a pretty good bet to say it's not "...reversing your shady...".

Still, it's a good guess. (Since opinons really can't prove anything conclusive.) I mean, if you ignore the "v" there, it could actually fit.

I've already given more than enough info on why it's "steel, borrow; reaper, savior" but I won't try to argue it with you guys.

And if you think that MJK sings properly tell me what the word that I used to think was "full" (so full of it) really is, because it sounds like he's saying fool. And if the band only did with properly spoken english then MJK's lisp would get him fired (noticeable in Wings)... It's called approximate rhyme, people.

If they are using drugs as a metaphor (or literally attacking them), this might be a possibility, who knows. Just my gut instinct after the first few listens, and the many listens since don't rule it out.

I've posted this a few times and no one responds.

I think there is only one utterance of the word "kangaroo" in the whole song and that's on the last repetition of that line. Here's how I think it goes:

The first two fit more into Maynard's writing style... knuckle,finger,elbow,shoulder - missing opportunities / leaving opportunities behind... king the rude (put them in a position of power) vs. cane the rude (put them in their place)... the last one really doesn't fit into the picture, but it makes for interesting conversation.
