The Prisoner

The love that I have for you is so immense, it’s overpowering

When you are not here, with me, I don’t know what to do

I slowly start suffocating, my cheeks turn a cobalt blue

Without a way to give you my love, it turns and spins, my oxygen gets thin

My world crashes, it shatters, explodes and spills

It smothers me with supernatural sorrow, like a fatal sickness that kills

Those sweet little dragonflies, that migrate and buzz inside

Get frantic and attack, they eat away at my aching heart, as if it was a snack

I passed out on the cold floor, I woke up days later, lying on my sore back

Where am I? Where did this love go?

Then the love returns hard, swift and fast

Hundreds of beautiful memories flooding me from the past

This burning love will never fade, it was made to last

Then the cycle repeats, like getting struck by lightning, I see a bright flash

Here we go again…time to collapse
