Holy Fuck Chicago got Right in Two, I really hope we do. I know they didn't get the pot or patient, but that would be great if we got it all. We are on of the last few shows on the tour, im sure they may culminate it all and play some kick ass shows in New york. I would soil myself on multiple occasions if i heard Right in Two with Lateralus and Rosetta Stoned. Thank god they're selling boxers at the merch stand. Friday night is going to rock
ehh i dont neccarily know if i wanna see right in two if we wont get to see the pot or the patient...i listened to the patient from 5/8/06 and woowwwwwww you'll be so amazed if you heard it..pm if you want it
as far as right in two goes, its one of my favorite songs off the album, but i think i cna wait until the fall tour to see it.
also i was thinking there is a curfew/ordinance in NYC THAT CONCERTS(major concerts i suppose beacause ive seen bands play in bars at all hours of the night like CBJB's) MUST END NO LATER THAN 11PM. thus, allowing TOOL only 1 hr 1/2 to play (if they go on right at 9:30)
like i also said, either friday night is gonna get a setlist change or saturday night..if we do get a set list change i hope they dont cut it too short...btw, i will be making TONS of noise outside the venue!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I have heard it and i think that the patient is amazing live, dont get me wrong. Right in two is one of my favorite songs off the new album, and i would love to hear it live. But The patient is also an amazing song that i would love to hear live. I'm torn. What I really hope for a culmination of everthing they've played on the tour. I may not be as fortunate as to see them in the fall for the arena tour cuz i'll be in college, but time will tell. I'm just really really fucking excited. Yeah, you're right about the 11 o'clock thing. It's some union deal. Once they go past 11 o'clock they get paid overtime or something like that.
if they mixed up the setlist at all... i would shit the bed if they played Jimmy or H. i have a bootleg from 1996 in ponoma where they played H. and it was fucking awesome!!!
As much as we'd all like to hear Jimmy and H., they're not going to be playing it on this tour. Wait til the arena tour, then you'll have a much better chance at seeing those songs live. We all want to see those songs live.

im not sure why our shows start at 9:30, when the rest of the tour they are playing around 8...it means basically if TOOL doesnt go on stage at exactly 9:30 we're gonna get a real short set (possibly what chicago got)..but that also means there is a very good possibilty that TOOL IS gonna start on time
and as far as H. and Jimmy goes, i doubt they will play those songs any more. The days of those songs being played, i believe, are long gone. On the Lateralus tour they basically played everything off the album (with the exception of ticks being a rare treat), and played maybe 5 songs from aenema and undertow combined...so im gonna guess once the fall tour for 10k days kicks off we'll see probably 90% of 10k days and maybe 3-5 songs off Lateralus, and Aenema (im guessing mainly the singles like they are playing now, schism, 46&2, stinkfist, aenema)...i guess what im trying to say is that on the fall tour we'll get wings, right in two, and intension...no more aenema/lateralus/undertow/opiate songs will be added
so excited to go. i just saw them in seattle, (i live in WA) and now i bit the bullet and paid scalpers for tickets to both nights. i hope they play right in two on at least 1 night.
plus ive never been to new york so this should be a fun trip
can someone please post pictures of their tickets I am buying some and would not like to get hosed if they are counterfeit. Both sides please and any possible distinguishing features such as holograms or what not. Thanks in advance guys.

so then my next question is what is to prevent bootleggers from selling hundreds of suckers the same tickets? i kind of wish there were some preventative measures better than showing up and having someone else sitting in my seat with his own ticket
all you have to do is ask the scalper to go to the ticket window with you or something to that extent...if he refuses to do so, fuck it, dont buy the ticket
...no more aenema/lateralus/undertow/opiate songs will be added
Who would have guessed that they would open with Cold and Ugly on the 2002 tour? You can't possibly say what they will or won't play. They could decide to do another tour like '98, where the setlist changed dramatically from night to night. Who knows?
How much should a cab ride from CoSM to City Center cost? It looks like it would be too long of a walk to make it to the show in time. It looks like the closest subway station is almost a mile from CoSM so I'm thinking cabbing it will be the best option to get there in time. Not sure what time Alex is done giving the tour but there is another event starting at 8:30 so I guess before then.

i'm hoping it's easy to get to by subway from the West Side YMCA where i'm staying. then hopefully a quick subway route to the show from COSM.
Does anyone know if it's a better idea to get the tickets for COSM ahead of time? Just scared it will sell out or something since so many Tool fans are going.

NYC Male- Im going both nights of course, right away after I saw your post I hit for single tix each night figuring to get best seats that way. I got front gallery center row b and orchestra row o whereever that is. (in my excitement got confused.)
I didnt go on here most of the day friday, so just before I took off from work to go to the airport a voice says to me- maybe check Toolnavy for any news before you go,
BTW- I just came back from Chicago and that was great, however like people have been noting, Im hoping and praying for some major set list changes for these two shows...

Hittin' a lot of these shows eh? I knew I couldn't be the ONLY one seeing them four times on the mini-tour.

I bought my CoSM tour tickets a few days after getting tickets to the City Center show. I figured if something happens and I don't have time for the tour I'm only out $20 for the tickets.
I wonder when Alex is going to announce the winner of the raffle for tickets to the 5/19 show? Supposedly the drawing was held this past Saturday night. I had 2 entries in that raffle.
Questions to New Yorkers... I'm coming from Montreal for the shows, I'm just wondering about the buses in Manhattan.
How much is a ride? And can I pay in 1-dollar bills?
Thanks a lot!
buses are usually $2 per ride... and you will need quarters... exact change only.
i would suggest picking up a metrocard (can be used for subways and buses). you can get one at any subway station. the benefit is you can purchase an unlimited card for a day... and its not too expensive (a 1 day unlimited ride fun pass = $7). this will keep you from having to carry around change.... and you can ride all you want... wherever you want to go.
I hear there is a subway located near the CityCenter, so i think i might take it to get there from Grand Central. The City Center is about 13 blocks from Grand Central, which obviously is feasible to walk, but depending on what time we arrive in the city, i may wanna take either the subway or a cab just so we're not late.
I heard TOOL is taking the stage at exactly 9:30, but i also read somewhere they went on stage 20 minutes early.
Anyone know what time the City Center is opening their doors? I want to arrive a little before 9 or at 9 cuz i hate just waiting in my seats.
edit: MY BRO JUST PICKED UP MY TICKETS WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I also read in a post that they went on stage 20 min early, but there's no way that's accurate. If anything, they will be late to start, not early.
According to the box office, the City Center doors will open at 8 pm.
And as for the subway, the E train goes from Penn Station to 7th Ave (at 53rd St), which is about 2 and a half blocks away from the theater. Not sure there is such a direct route from Grand Central.

TOOL is almost deffinatley not starting late (maybe 5 minutes at most) because they cant play past 11 without getting fined. There is a city ordinance prohitibiting concerts going passed 11pm. I really hope they take the stage 15 minutes early, cuz if not then we're only getting an hour and a half show, If doors open at 8, that usually means 8:15-8:30, atleast from the experiences i've had, doors never open on time, so i will probably be there around 8:45 - 9:00.
I'm taking a 7:07 train and arriving at 8:07pm, but i might wanna take the 8:07 and arrive at 9:07, however that might be cutting it tooooo close. I'm sure it wont take tooo much time to get from Grand Central to the City Center.

I have 1 ticket on 6/13 for Radiohead at MSG Theatre, Section 303 Row L...I'd be interested in a ticket to either night of Tool at the City Center. PM me if you are interested
moneyisevil- dude Are you fucking insane? What if something happens to your train? I would suggest getting to the city as early as possible(within reason of course..) I was on a train that got got stuck in the tunnel, we must have sat there for an hour before we moved. So by all means do not cut it close! BTW I cant believe they released your tickets to your brother, you mean they didnt check his id? Nice...in that case Im heading down there tomorrow... you are right getting will-call day of show could get hectic, with the long line...
Its gonna be a great weekend though, did I mention I also got tickets to Subway Series for Sat afternoon?
BTW- How on earth did you manage to get Hammerstein tickets in 2001? Getting tickets to that was hopeless...
Damn could have went to see Radiohead, now I regret getting only single tickets.
moneyisevil -
as for the entire curfew thing it does not apply to all sections of the city. I went to see buckethead a few weeks ago at bb kings blues club and the show didnt even start till like 10. I was pissed thinking i would only see a lilttle bit of buckethead but he ended up playing till like 12:30 . After the show i asked someone why he was able to stay on so long and the bouncer said that the city is divided into diff sections with the curfew. BB kings is relatively close to the city center so maybe they will not have that dumbass 11 curfew.

ive seen bands play at 3:30 in the morning, but i think the curfew applies to actual venues ya know. i only can hope the 11 o'clock curfew DOES NOT apply, but im gonna go in based with the assumption that it does, not to be a downer, but to be realistic. I still have no idea why they are playing at 930 when everywhere else its 8.
since im going to the sat. show, i guess i'll see what time they stopped playing because that will be the best way on predicting on if they will play past 11 or not.

me and 2 friends found this guy with literally a duffle bag full of 100 tickets or so, and we paid $140 a piece....it was kinda risky since tons of fake tickets were being honored at the door, and previously in atlanta the show was delayed for an hour or so due to ticketmaster personel chekcing tickets with uv lights and shit because there were wayyyyyy more people in their venue than there should have been....one of the chicks i was with actually was stopped by security and they werent gonna let her in, but me and my friend convinced security to let us in since my ticket and my other friends was honored...hectic situation but an amazing show dubbed "An Evening with TOOL"...im so lucky to have seen that minishow and i am so lucky to be seeing this show saturday night...im so excited
Dude, I recommend going EARLY. There is no opening band, and they have been starting early indeed. Some people already missed most of Rosetta Stoned by the time they got through the line, and to their seats.
If you think your train is getting there around 9pm, I guarantee you will miss several/many songs. You are insane to not go early.
