During the break down around 5 mins... after maynard is done speaking his lyrics, "trust me trust me trust me" and the guitar shreeks. Apparently right there it has been said there is a voice that is Maynard and the singer of RATM saying something in the background. Anyone ever hear it? I've never actually heard it well, but have been there when people pointed it out.. and still couldnt get a good grasp on it.

It has been mentioned frequently around here and I believe in the FAQ(I think) it says that someone is saying "turn that shit down!" but I believe it is not saying that at all(if that's what the FAQ is referring to, I can't remember, it might be another song)it just sounds like 2 moans or shouts of some sort.
It reminds me of what effect it's supposed to have(if it is for that reason at all)anyway I had this other album me and a friend were listening too one night and in this particular song, in the background, you can hear a car screeching as if skidding around a corner, my friend jumped up and looked out the window and said "did you hear that!" I said "what?" he said "that car, skidding like it was about to crash or something" I smiled and said it was from the song. He then sat down and we never spoke of it again.

Just Maynard!
Zack had nothing to do with the sub message. It's just Maynard saying "Hey....Hey.....turn that shit down!"
I don't think it's a subliminal message, but I always hear the sounds. It has the more of an effect if you're listening through headphones because (for me) it replicates the sound of hearing someone saying something when you've got headphones on. The first time couple of times I listened through headphones I had to look round cos I thought someone was there.
The reaon he thought it was Zach was because "Turn that shit down" is part of the chorus from Guerilla Radio. That's my RATM knowledge there, I know the words to a popular song by them. They were friends with Rage and maynard sung with them live on stage during Lollapollooza (?)

It's Tool, I think everyone wants it to be something deep and meaningful, but you know...It doesn't have to be. When I was baked once, I put AENIMA in my cd player and heard all sorts of weird shit.
TJP is right, it sounds like small grunts or moans, I always think someone is claling me in the other room as well....I always hear it as "Steve..." "Steve...."

Ha, Maynard probably knows most of us will turn the song up as loud as we can to try and hear it, so he is telling us to "turn that shit down." But yeah I hear those grunts at around 4:00, they always put a smile on my face.
