Saturn's solar year is 29 years... (approximately 10,000 days).
Saturn has been represented as a spiritual essence that beckons our full potential. Symbolically, it comes around every 29 years to let us know where we faulter in the forms of harsh circumstance and difficult questions. It also absolutely demands the removal of the ego.
But I'm absolutely sure that Tool uses random numbers and random refrences to different planets. They just want to appear intelligent in the eyes of mainstream by giving them the illusion that they are over their own heads.. This is all just a coincidence.

btw, there's an REM song called "Saturn Return"... think MJK and Michael are in cahoots?
10,000 days = 27.397 or 27.4 years...(add 6.75 days to account for leap years)
29 years = 10,585 days (again, give or take for leap years)
This would actually put the year of Saturn closer to an approximate 11,000 days.

Blair told me through morse code that 10,000 days isn't at all about Judith, but actually about the mysterious and enigmatic "27 Club".

Yeah, I've established (I guess on another thread) that the Saturn solar year is off by about 600 days... but it still seems significant. I've also heard things about 10,000 being a "seemingly infinite number", but I'm sure its already been discussed.

You're absolutely right... but that doesn't mean it is impossible to find out. Maynard himself claimed that the reason he keeps lyrics so cryptic is to get people to pick up a book and "Feel it out" for themselves. The lyrics and the artwork probably won't hold the key for anything... but they sure point a lot of fingers in a lot of different directions. And I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I feel like Tool is something more than just a Rock Band. Not saying they are God-like or anything... but they seem like much more "cultured" artists to say the least.
I never hold a firm opinion about anything when it comes to Tools music.. there seems to be always "something else". But who really knows if Maynards mother was a paraplegic for 10,000 days? All of the songs (including wings 1 and 2) reference something a little more... impersonal, as well as personal.... like they are side by side.
I think we can all know what the lyrics are about, just as we interpret paintings, poetry, and all other art. What we won't know is the specific personal meaning to the band members, unless they tell us.
The important part is to focus on general and obvious meanings of the work, and then how they apply to the world in general and then to you personally. We shouldn't get so hung up on what it means to the artisits.
And Noose, I was just being silly with the calculations, I find the connections quite interesting...

10,000 days, is 10,000 days any way sliced, diced, and pureed ...What transpires between 2 points is folded and halved and halved again...Most of us occupy one vector physically, yet meditate on many, sometimes infinite universe...What we see from then until now is conciously and unconciously collected, interpeted, and stored as memories, that we re-call daily, in an effort to recognize our true self, our true blue-print for being, our true purpose in life.....Wether we are aware of this or not it is constantly employed..It is your shadow, your light, your soul...
pardon those more simple minded like myself... can you please rephrase that?
