After seeing Badshirt's dream come true...I'd figure I'd give it a shot. Any extra ticket for either night in any section would be amazing. I have yet to see the band and have been listening since I was 13, now I am 26. Holy crap... that's half of my life now!
Anyway, I am new this forum and joined at Tool Army this year but that was no help for getting a ticket. Any help will be appreciated. I will pay over face. PM if you can help.
I'll trade for either NY show, I can give you a ticket to Pearl Jam on 6-1, plus Ill throw in some baseball tickets, I got Red Sox - Yankees and Yankees - Mets etc. if you want em... You cant have my Salival box though....
Sorry to piggy back off George's post but I think I would let go of my Salival box to get in the door at City Center.
I also would like to organize a group of those of us who do not get tickets. If we get enough us together we can battle ram the back door or dress up as teamsters with laminated passes and load equipment/sneak in. Or we can rob the scalpers outside the venue! Brass knuckles and mace!
I'm dying here, I can't believe how many of us couldn't get tickets, while there are abundance of them on ebay for prices I laugh at. It's really aggravating to say the least, but its a self defeating aggravation because it will get me nowhere.
Does anyone want to trade their 1 5/20 nyc ticket for my 1 5/19 nyc ticket...Please!! I'll even throw in like 20-30 bucks or so for the trouble of switching...Come on, thats a good deal! [email protected]
torrent - did you go to Hammerstein Ballroom show in 2001? There must have been at least 100-150 people hanging out outside while the show was going on. Hopefully we can hear the show from the sidewalk, I dont know how good the acoustics are at this place.
I just checked Stub Hub... someone's selling a pair of Orch seats for Sat Row P for $1300 a piece... that can't be right can it? Someone tell me that's not right? There's no ticket on StubHub for either show for less than like $450 each ... are people paying this much or is this simply wishful thinking on the seller's part? I luckily managed to snag 2 Orch seats on Sat during my 3 hr CityCenter ordeal... can these things be worth $2500??

I am thinking we all can party outside worst case – but I didn't stand outside the Hammerstein in '01. I just hope standing outside in May and hearing the echo of brilliance that is Tool isn't too much torture!

Hold out, Fadilles. Post here every 6 hours that you need seats. Hopefully someobdy will help out.
The longer you hold out on buying from those services the cheaper the tickets will get.
Every one of these venue is so small that there may not be a bad seat in the house. I've seen Tool a few times from halfway back in a larger venue and with the amazing lights and sound it was insignificant that I was back a bit. It may have actually added to the vibe to be able to sit further back.
I would say - in these venues its impossible to get a bad seat.

And I would agree with you. I saw both Seattle shows with King Crimson back in '01. For one show I was on the last row on the floor, and the other I was midway up the balcony. It didn't matter. These places are designed for symponies and plays... there isn't a seat in the house that will sound bad or have a bad view of the stage.
Got a pair of tickets off ebay yesterday afternoon for 400.55. Not the best deal ever, but certainly not the worst.
Has anyone ever been to this venue, our seats are in the gallery somewhere, from the pictures of the place, doesnt look like there is a bad seat in the house.
To others in the search for a ticket...I looked on Ebay at the Boston show prices and they aren't as inflated as the NY. Worst case, I'll hit up the Boston show via the $10 Chinatown bus which lets you off walking distance to Orpheum. Anyone up for a field trip...we could split a cheaper buy-it-now?!?!?!
Damn, stroke of luck, buddy of mine ended up w/an extra ticket the same way many others did: he ended up with tickets he didn't think he'd gotten. I tried till 1:15 but gave up right when other people were starting to get some luck it looks like. Looks like I'm goin, though. Drivin straight up from the good ol commonwealth of virginia. Sweetass seats too. Anyone wanna go get wasted after the show? I don't want that night to end really.
My god, Im not even sure if its worth posting, but I don;t really have a choice. I need 1 or 2 tickets for EITHER night. And I will be willing to pay double the face or a little bit more. Im completely serious about this and I am praying that someone can come through.

has anyone checked toolband.com lately? confirmed...you don't have to spend a fortune if you feel confident the earth will still be spinning in the fall.

I know they'll be coming back but this show is way too important to me for many reasons. I feel $150 for a ticket is fair in regards to the current scalping situation. Plus i'm not sure where im gonna be in 2 months.

Yeah, it is gonna be sweet-couldn't ask for a nicer venue. I'm sure you'll get in.
To all those that got to order tickets throuhg city center, have any of you actually recieved them yet? I ordered over the phone and was told it would come in the mail. I wonder when though.

I didn't get mine yet. The lady on the phone said it would take up to 10 business days, but most likely less....

if someone is able to get a pearl jam irving plaza ticket at tower records in the village on monday, i will be willing to trade my 5/20 city center tool ticket for it. the first 450 fans who buy the new pearl jam cd on monday at midnite at the tower records in the village will receive a ticket for the pearl jam show at irving plaza on may 5th. if anyone is successful and wants to make the trade., send me a PM.
Question: I've never seen Tool live, missed my chance in DC their last tour, so I'm wondering how their setlists vary? Is there an archive?
Also, if it seems they've been playing the same setlist from Coachella through all of May, do you think tickets are going to open up for Saturday's NYC show? I know I will consider letting mine go if that's the case, not because I don't think they'll kill each night but I anticipate Friday will blow my mind and I don't want to chase that high again on Saturday...
you dont want to go?? wow. Think abou it a little more dude... If you decide not to go I can give you a shitty seat to Pearl Jam on 6/1 in Meadowlands, cause I got one extra.
Shit man this is a busy month coming up- Coachella this weekend, Chicago in 2 weeks, two PJ shows at Meadowland, and sat. PJ show at Philly! Im gonna be paying off the credit card for rest of the year I think...
yeah george, i think its a fair trade. i have to work on monday so i cant get there late sun nite/ early mon morning to line up. if someone else wants to do it and is successful, ill make the even swap with them for one of my 5/20 tool tickets.
Still desperately trying to score a NYC ticket for either night. I wasn't able to get a ticket for any other shows so if somebody could help me out that would be sick. Willing to pay a reasonable amount.

www.collectiveunconscious.org is a good archive of shows. He doesn't include setlists from shows that don't have a known existing recording, and I've found the occassional mistake on there, but generally Galen does an excellent job with his site.
I don't believe they'll play the same setlist for all the shows. I'm really expecting a longer setlist for the club dates as compared to Coachella. In addition, I'm POSITIVE they'll play slightly different sets from one night to the next at the two NYC shows.
My guess/hope is set lists will vary by at least 30-40 percent from show to show. I went back to back nights at MSG and the set lists were significantly different.

Yeah that's reasonable. I expect they'll have a "base" setlist decided on, with a scattered few songs that they can switch out from night to night. I don't really expect the setlists to vary from show to show as much as they did back in '98. Damn... those were the days.
