I've gone to around 50 concerts in my life and work at a concert hall and the only concerts I've seen go past 12 are Mexican Festivals which don't start until 11:30.
Ive seen shows go way past 11pm. Springsteen at the Garden for ex show was over past midnight, also Black Crowes played until 2 AM this New Years Eve, for a show that started at 8 pm. Also GnR at the Garden went way past midnight. It just has to do with costs of paying overtime to arena staff, not any union restrictions, unless you call paying people overtime a "Union Restriction".
Second point- if youve seen more than a dozen shows or such number you know earplugs are a must, unless you want to go deaf real fast...
I still need a single for either show in NYC - either night is fine.
I'm willing to pay more than face but not a ridiculous amount.
Thank you.

same here..I was lucky enough to get one ticket for around $100, but I want to get one for my best friend (who has no money..took a semester off to volunteer helping to rebuild louisiana) because he deserves it and I'd like a companion on the ~14 hour drive to NYC from western NC. Aaahh this is a nightmare!

I never said past 11 I said past 12, and a New Years Eve show is an obvious exception. I guess I just haven't been seeing the right shows. I've worked Springstein shows, around 6 or so I believe and am working two more tonight and tomorrow. He never played past midnight when I worked his shows, I guess because it's not the Garden. Appparently I've just gone to the wrong shows and nobody wants to play too long at the concert hall I work at.

Imagine- congrats I see youre going to see Springsteen at Asbury Park. The Springsteen show Im talking about was 1988 Tunnel of Love Tour, it was the only Springsteen show Ive seen until last year. Yeah I was shocked that it went so late cause it was the first concert Id seen at the Garden that went past 11. I remember in those days the radio and artists would mention "Union Restrictions" as to why they ended the shows at 11. Well bs to them! All its got to do with is bands dont want to pay the money for overtime, plus probably 2 x pay for late work(I dont know for sure youd have to ask someone that works MSG for the details). What about the hockey play-off games that sometimes go into early hours, games that end at 2 am.
Now Tool- I suspect the show will end at 11, because Tool wont want to spend $ on the ot pay going by past tours. If I remember right their MSG shows in 2001 ended around 11 also if someone remembers the Hammerstein show in 2001, what time that ended that would probably be a big clue as to what happens on this mini-tour.

there is no way this show will end at 11... that is 1.5 hours, if they go on at 9:30 (which we know will not happen) and take out the encore and intermission (if they take one) that is like 1 hour 10 min...
i highly doubt this venue has a union they need to worry about, its a smaller "art" venue... also with the show having a later start time, if there is a union involved at this venue, they may have exteneded the stop time due to that...
i will ask my dad what he knows, he used to work with the union when he was in his late teens to help load and unload band's stuff at MSG...

NYC has no curfew on concerts (except for outdoor shows)...they can play till 4AM if they want

Yeah, I work at Asbury Park Convention Hall, it's not a bad job, I get to see some pretty decent shows and Bruce a lot. I'm not a big Bruce fan and wish I was because I know a lot of people would want to work that more than me but I respect him and I do like his acoustic stuff.

Someone at CIty Center just told me not to even show up until 9:15 or so, and that doors wouldn't even be until 9. He also told me my order wasn't in the system (phone orders done by last name.) Had my name in there wrong! I about shit my pants, and listed off ths seats I should have had, the name of the operator I spoke with, etc. Don't need the stress... They found the order and gave me a # to use from now on.
woo. i have tix for both nites. mezzanine. yay. !!!!!

Looks like I bought two NYC extras, sold for $220 a pop.
I still don't understand why, with 2million+ fans, the US tour is only a handful of dates. I wish someone who knew would let us know. This tour is a scalpers dream.

This is a mini-tour. A warm-up handful of shows before they go to Europe. There will be several full US tour legs starting in the Fall.
At one point I had four tickets in my cart, but it never let met proceed to checkout. =(
Same thing happened to me, I got 2 tix for Sat then the site SPAZZED on the way to checkout.
Maybe they will come back around and give more people a chance to see them before another 5 years passes. I love Tool, they are sublime but I don't think I'm giving into the greed this time.

Thanks for that, really, I'm sitting here lamenting so that is DEFINATELY what I needed to hear. I've pretty much given up finding 2 tickets for Sat in NYC for ~$200 so that would be fantastic.
I'm willing to spend over or around $150 for a single. Please hit me up if you have an extra - I don't want to support scalpers but would be glad to give a fan a couple of extra bucks for the hook up.
I HAVE ONE TICKET MID MEZZANINE FOR THE FIRST NIGHT AVAILABLE.... I PAID 700 FOR IT! im not taking anything less. if you want it PM ME, or EMAIL @ [email protected].... we can meet @ show, or before, i live in central Jersey. but work in battery park (New York Mercantile Exchange) right by the Trade center everyday. anyone interested act fast. i have many offers on ebay but id rather sell to someone from toolshed who is in this area and wont miss this amazing show. also i ONLY accept cash
If any of you actually think you are going to get it for less than 500 and thats ANY seat you are out of your minds. go look at stub hub. or any site. tix up to 900. why would someone sell one for 100 to one of you when im sure at least everyone who got a tix for face vaule has at least one friend who likes tool and they will bring. youre dreaming if you are paying less than 500 by now... better start becoming a damn good christian muslim jew whatever to get that
I will never pay more than $200 for this seat and I will probably get in. I believe somebody in the Tool community will step up and sell me a seat for face or less than $200. If they don't, then I won't see the show. They'll be back in the fall.
You are insane if you think I'm paying $600 for your seat. If you paid $700 for it that is your problem. Don't come onto a board and try to frighten people into overpaying. Prices will go down as the show nears. If not, so what?
I refuse to support anybody selling for a ridiculous amount. It makes me suspicious of their intentions and if they are fans.
Please don't pay $600 for seats - it will only add to the madness of scalpers. F them.

People are getting them on Ebay for much, much less than that. To pay that much is insane. .
I have two rear mezzanine tickets to the saturday NYC show. willing to trade for 1 ticket in a better location. Same night
email [email protected] if you are interested
