As for the video, I'm getting a bit sad, because I think the fans have a right to get something like that somewhen. I have total faith that this video will be something totally awesome, but still, it seems like they shit on the fans a bit to me.

From what I read they were nearly done with the video and then decided that the CG portion was crap so they scrapped that part. It's been a while though and I was under the impression they were going to redo it, but I guess nobody really knows.
I wish they had released a video right around the time 10000 days came out.It would have been really good for the band.Friends of mine who are like dedicated Tool fans but not internet-friendly didn't even know they released a new album.Also the media where i live werent really informative either.no vicarious on the radio like in some internet stations where it played over and over again.
Yeah, it's not as though they need to rush to get it out so it can air on the music channels with the single since the single was released.... eight months ago.
And for that matter, why are we inclined to think that there will really be one at all? Hearsay and speculation? Any actual, substantiated information regarding it? What about a video for The Pot? Haven't seen that one, either, and The Pot is ten times the single that Vicarious is. (Note that I did not say ten times the song)
Tools music has come to a point where we dont need the video. Sometimes a video enhances the feeling of a song, and i must say that no matter how awesome the Tool vids are, the power and the message and the feeling of the song has not changed for me by watching the video. It has, of course, been a very unique experience; but nothing indispensable.
I think it would be great to have a video for it. I think any enhacement to Tool's music is amazing, I noticed that when I saw them live. Their videos and graphics just fit so damn well to the music that it kind of brings you in the necessary spiritual mood faster.
to force out a video on such good music is killing the music itself,so Adam is just letting the music take hold of the listeners first,then release a video,i dunno how long it took to create a video for Parabol/a since it was a single.
and well,ADAM is the one directing,and he was on tour,so i think he really can't set aside the time yet,but i heard that The Pot is being filmed during the hols.
You can tell the guy who made the vid tried really, really hard to be Tool. To be fair, though, the scene where the guy comes through the TV set is a neat visual. But, you could be Ray Charles and tell that this is fake.

People like you are the idiot "fans" who sit back with a beer in one hand and their cock in the other waiting for Tool to get down on their knees and serve them.
Adam has said more than once that they are simply waiting for the CG house to finish it. Instead of doing stop motion, they are doing computer animation, and they sent it off to be finished and THOSE guys are lagging on it. Adam et al are not making this video, some CG company is. So if you really want to shout your greedy frustration, at least direct it in the right place.
