Hotels in SF are premium prices regardless of neighborhood. The Tenderloin remains pretty "interesting" despite the entire area being gentrified. The main issue there is the high number of homeless folks and the street crime.

One heads up about booking any hotel in SF. Check on parking details. I've seen overnight parking costs as high as $125 per night. No joke. Its often a way to gouge visiters who got a good deal on the room through Priceline or Hotwire.

Embryo beat me to it but he has it right. Doesn't matter what part of town...you're gonna pay the piper. And definitelyfind out if your hotel has free pparking or something because they will rape you to park

re: $$$

I was actually very surprised at how CHEAP the hotels were. I found a courtyard NEAR the tenderloin that was offering $134/night; missed it by a day, it went up $25. I booked a relatively high quality hotel near the tenderloin that's $159/night.

Just seems odd to me that we have this perception of the tenderloin being SUPER ghetto, yet just northeast of O'Farrrel/Jones it's a Marriott/Westin on every block.

Both hotels charged $50-60 for parking but I'm probably going to not have a car.

Would it be better to park at a Bart station in, say, Berkeley area, and ride Bart into SF, BART back after the show and find a less rapey hotel near I-5?

The doors open for the San Diego show at 5pm! Hey Junior, any details on the approx. stage times for the bands? Don't want to miss any music due to pre-gaming. Thanks :)

Remember SF is a tiny city. Things change block by block. But I will say that 159 is a very good deal.

I would love to host all of ya'll but Santa Cruz is a bit of a hike.

So, I live in Orange County. Was wondering how a train would work. Does anyone have experience with this? OC>SF and back? Is that any cheaper than driving?

Being local in the bay area but living outside the city I stay at the Phoenix Hotel when I stay overnight. The rates are good for those nights and they offer free parking with the room. Another bonus is the 21st Amendment Brewery Package (which is the same rate $149) that they hook you up with a 6 pack of beer in the room, which is pretty nice. It's right up the street and has a cool bar to chill at. Don't worry about it "being in the tenderloin" it's not that bad imo.

No idea on set times, and 5pm sounds early for doors, to me.

Mine too. Viejas website says there is an 11:00 curfew, the website also says doors are typically 60-90 mins prior to show and to please call the office and verify times.

i hate festivals. but the one thing i do love about them are the later (note: not longer) set times. most venues you gotta be done by 11:00 PM due to noise curfews and/or staffing rules at the venues. many big arena venues where large touring bands play have these policies. it's annoying as fuck. however smaller venues and festivals usually let bands play as late as they want...usually until midnight or later.

My guess is 3 teeth @ 7 or 7:30, Primus from 8-9:15 - Tool - 9:30-11ish. I would go earlier but I am going by your guys ticket times. Its feasible doors are at 5 show starts at 7:30 no?

It sounded early to me too. But with 3 acts, you never know. That's why I wanted to get some insider feedback, thanks Junior! Mine is an e-ticket from TM so I don't know why it would have such an early open time on it....

If everybody else's says 7:30; i'll go with that. That sounds more typical. But calling the venue is a good idea also.

Cheers!

Those homemade tickets you bought on Craigslist might have the wrong info on them

Is bill graham one of these "smaller theaters"? Any idea when I can expect to be done there?

Think of BG as a sports arena with a third cut off and removed. Bigger than a theater smaller that an arena. Capacity just over 7k

(Final x-post of this)

SELLING: ONE digital ticket for 1/10 San Diego (Sunday). I live in SF and grabbed tickets to the SF shows so I no longer need this one. It is section D row 5 seat 7. Purchased through the ticketmaster app. The ticket is eligible for transfer. Here is the seating chart linked by Ticketmaster:

I am asking what I paid: $103.95.

If nobody jumps on that SD ticket I might be in, I'll need a few days to confirm though, so if someone else wants it knock yourself out.

used app called skiplagged to find LAX>OAK round trip for $88… then they let me add a hotel for $50. Hotel is 2 miles away from BG and has shared bathrooms, but i couldn't turn down the price. BOOKED!

You know your getting pumped for show when you go back and watch old shows youve been to!!! Checking old setlists and stuff like that. Sheesh. This band has definitely affected my life. Its the reason me and my wife met . Ive made alot of friends because of Tool via this site and shows. This band...this band holding me, be my reminder that I am not alone!

Looking through the 'tour' tab of toolband.com. Some of the cities are in all caps and some are not. People have told me Blair does not make mistakes like that. Any significance or just how it got entered/copypasted? (Bored and excited...)
