talk about bullshit.
because maynard is sick for one day we have to wait a fucking half a year to see a concert we paid 75 dollars or more for that was supposed to take place on sept 12.
and even then, they'll probably still only play for about an hour and 45 minutes, with the same fucking setlist they've been playing since they started this whole tour.
re-goddamn-diculous. theres almost a full month gap in between the end of the us tour and the start of the europe tour. thats bullshit, that they can't just play ONE fucking extra show. fuck lawyers, fuck bullshit paper work, they are TOOL they can make it happen if they want to...but they dont, because they don't give a fuck its
"just another date, playing to a bunch "junkies" that happen to like their music" they dont give 2 shits about their fans. shows are just "an obligation"

man that is just total bullshit. I was figuring that January was a "worst case scenario" but this is bullshit. But who knows it might be just an error or something. Ticketmaster hasn't announced a date, and neither has the AT&T center. And announcing this at midnight is quite strange. Alamo tickets is also just a ticket broker that sells tickets at extreme prices.

Question, why the hell are they selling so many tickets??? Isn't ticket master supposed to honor the rest of us who already have tickets??? This site says there are seats on the floor for over 200 bucks! When i bought my ticket there was nothing available but up in the seats, suddenly somehow there are floor tickets available?!?!?!? Either this is bullshit, or we're FUCKED!

i'm sure they will honor the tickets but that still doesn't make sense. Nothing was available before, unless some people sold their tickets to alamotickets for more than their face value so they can charge double that amount
well i contacted alamo tickets just a second ago and they told me that they just posted an anonymous date so they can push out their extra tickets that they had left. That's a relief. Now here's to hoping for an october date.
I was told by a co-worker that it was to be rescheduled some time early next year. He said he had a good source but I dont know. I dont really want to believe him though cause I dont think I can wait that long.
Maybe Alamo tickets may know something we don't? I am just to anxious.....

Ha-Ha. I sort of knew this was coming. I wouldn't be surprised if the show ended up being done in April. I hear Maynard's taking the harvest season off, so that takes care of October being a possibility. I just want to feel justified in my anger, truth be told. Just wait: same set list, late date.

I think it depends on whether TOOl, The SA Spurs and SA Ramapge (AHL Hockey) can work out a date. The at&t center will get very busy over the next few weeks.

i hope thats a good sign for us.
i mean if they planned to cancel it, they would have told us up front, right?
if they keep our hopes up by saying its postponed and then actually cancel it, ill probably go ahead with that shooting spree thats always been in the back of my mind.
All I know is that I am getting impatient........I am pretty sure tho if they were gonna play this year they would have said something by now........I would bet more money on the April date........
Madison was all out cancelled because supposedly the venue was less than 50% sold. Not to say Nard isn't feeling ill, but...
This makes a lot of sense to me. You know all the Texas dates sold well this trip through and Texas also always sells well on second rounds. So I wouldn't be surprised if we get a couple of new dates on the second round and the makeup for this show at the same time. There isn't really anything near Madison, IL that warrants them making a stop nearby for the second round of dates, and if this show didn't sell out then I'd say fuck it too.
i think that there may be some truth to it... you have to consider that there's other factors involved here.
if the venue is less than half sold (unbelieveable, as that is) than the band has to believe that they had an opportunity to get Maynard back to 100%, rested, and dissappoint a smaller amount of people than at another show...
it sucks, without doubt, but there's a ton of COST that goes into putting on a show of this magnatude, and it just makes sence to cut your losses in the most logical of places...
it still REALLY sucks that they won't reschedule.
I'm sure they'll be back to that area tho...
...counting the moments until the make-up date for San Antonio is announced...

i agree, when it first got "postponed" i was really hoping for a date coming up real soon. now, i just wanna know when the hell it's gonna be, for peace of mind. it would really suck if the new date really wasnt until april, but hey, at least we would finally know.

As a mother of 4 who never ever goes anywhere this was a huge deal for me,snifflewhine and bitch...i surely cant hold onto the 2 joints i got for the show until april:( Funniest thing is i cant really listen to Tool now without getting really bummed. This is the support group for neglected and forlorn Tool fans right?

There's a whole lot of consider to reschedule an event like this, especially when The Spurs and The Rampage begin playing in October. The band has booking agents and tour managers that have to coordinate with ATT Center staff as well. In 2000, it took forever to get confirmation that the Beastie Boys/Rage Against the Machine tour had been cancelled. There's no bigger bummer than going to get your refund for concert tickets. I guess if you paid $300 for a $55 refund it would suck more, but I never deal with scalpers. But the fact that they have announced another show cancelled outright would imply that there will be a rescheduled concert for SA; whenever it may be.
I too would like to know sooner rather than later, but I'm prepared for anything. Luckily I'm close to SA, so extremely short notice won't be too much of a problem. But for those traveling far, it might really suck if we're given short notice.
"In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling of the applicable event, management shall not be required to issue a refund provided that you are given the right, within twelve months of the date of the original event, to attend a rescheduled performance of the same event or to exchange this ticket for a ticket, comparable in price and location, to another similar event as designated by management except as otherwise provided by law" --- the back of your ticket

The thing that really sucks about the whole situation is that TOOL will come through the area again anyway. They will hit smaller cities like Austin, Corpus, shit, maybe even Lubbock or Laredo. So in a way, we'll be 'cheated' out of a show. Each time they tour I can catch at least three shows with minimum driving.

Yeah, I have a feeling they will be back in 2007 and call that the make-up show. I just don't see them coming to Texas for one show in the middle of October...plus there are so many other factors considering the At&T Center is home of Tim Duncan and the Spurs.
Go Spurs Go!!!!

Why would you catch three shows? It's the same setlist.
True on this tour, but that wasn't the case in the past. The three shows would be over the span of a year or two and their setlist would change. Tool will usually hit major cities first time around, then smaller ones, then back around again for the big markets one more time; about a 2+ year touring 'cycle'.

^ I think that's pretty sad if that's true. Have they really become that driven by money?
Unfortunately you do have to consider the financials involved with putting on an operation of this size. I'd like for the fans in Madison to be able to see the band, but I can also understand how the cancellation is a good/least bad option for the band in an unfortunate situation.

Even with the setlist having only minor variations seeing all the shows allowed me to catch the few songs from the new album that I hadn't yet heard live. Also spending a week seeing Tool is a pretty bad ass way to spend a week in my book. Just something fun and cool about following your favorite band on the road for a little bit.
My prediction is that this show will be made up during their return to Texas on the second round where they will play some college towns.
I heard today from a ticket broker that I might be played in January or February any body know something?
who was it that you heard it from? i'm just wondering if there's some ligitimacy to it...
I'm going fuck-off insane with anticipation...
I want it to be soon, but, at the same time... i notice that the setlist has not changed at all since the Dallas show, and i'd really like to see "right in two"...
