Hot coffee, gone cold, cold coffee, perfectly hot
He joyfully floats like a maple leaf in the warm, calm waters of a spring fed pond
He slowly sinks like a lead fishing weight that is still attached to the nylon line
He smiles freely, watching children happily play, while they giggle
He suddenly cries alone, wringing red tears from his dusty bones
He vanishes the evil black, bursting breathtaking colors from his hopeful eyes
He lives in favorite memories, he lives in haunting memories, that fuel such pain, he lives in all these memories
He loves dancing to cheerful music, when no one is around, only the snoring cat that breathes those adorable sounds
He feels so close to her, that her lips on his chest, just one pleasant kiss, then he’s out of this dreadful mess
He hears a faint knock upon the door, and rushes to open it, only to find endless rain puddling on the weeping floor
He is surrounded by beautiful blessings, everywhere that he goes, soaking up bits of precious wisdom, sprinkled out from peers that he knows
He doesn’t ever want to let anyone down, especially her, now who’s residing in a distant town
The coffee is tasteful, when it’s perfectly hot, the coffee is bitter, expired and cold
These are merely truths, ups and downs of this new daily life
The sun is out, not a single cloud can be seen in the awesome baby blue sky
What future tonight will bring, is uncertain, that’s a definite fact
Love is abundantly here, but will this aching love be able to be shared equally, and given back?
