Calabi-Yau (a Forum member in our thread) recieved an E-Mail last night from the 'TOOL Army'
He informed our thread today of this:
"I just got a lovely present from ToolArmy - Two tickets for the Toronto show!
I'm gonna go dust of my TA membership card now! Awsome!
YES, ToolArmy came through for me bigtime on this event!
To join ToolArmy.... I paid $100.00 US back in the day. That was the full package.
I got a cheesy jacket, a ballcap, a membership card, a shirt and......a signed picture of the band by each bandmember. That was cool, the picture is awsome.
But I know that were were lower levels of membership, at $60 and $40 US each.
As for tickets, this came out of the blue last night, when I got a e-mail from them saying that I have two tickets waiting for me at the Hummingbird Center (our venue for the show)
I heard that other "ToolArmy oldtimers" had the same thing happen to them today.
So its kinda like the PJ membership, with longest members getting the perks
ToolArmy does not have any Presales for these events.
I just kinda won the tickets, cause of my membership. Im just lucked out.
In the past they had a lottery of sorts for tickets for shows, but never a pre-sale"
Now I'm not comparing them to NIN's spiral but the TOOL Army isn't that bad!

To anyone who got tickets...my seats say "Row 5, seats 26 and 28". Did you happen to get even seats or odd seats or did you get seats that say (for example...23,24)?
Hey did anyone else see the arizona republic today, it says that the show is being held at the dodge theatre, is this just a mistake or will there be a venue change?
Well, that does not make me feel any better knowing scalpers are in the wrong to be charging me in excess to the original price in addition to the fact they have a ticket they don't even want/need and I do not have it.

"Grady Gammage Auditorium, considered by many to be the crowning jewel of ASU’s Tempe campus, is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s last designs. Wright designed the building to be as acoustically perfect as possible. This means that every seat is a great seat..."
I'm so excited...I'm a LITTLE off to the right, but only 8 rows (technically) from the stage. I have had offers of upwards of 500 a piece...but no one is getting these tickets...maybe for $10,000...MAYBE.
But rly, any of you Valley of the Sun people listening to 98 kupd trying to win tickets. The morning show has been giving tickets away the pass few days now and there will be a "win it before you can buy it" weekend contest and if ya win that your name is entered in a drawing for tickets as well. So, ya may not like radio but it may be the only way to get tickets.
I am wondering how this is going to work out. I don't think those seats are removable. Anyone ever been to a tool show that had seating?
Never seen a tool show with seats but I've been to a bunch of "metal" shows with seats. Its just more....painful with the seats . You really can't keep people from moshing..
Are any of you meeting up somewhere before the show?
I know that there will be no liquor served in Gammage although, I hear there are some bars a few blocks away where I will surely be hanging at for a while before the show. I'm flying from Chicago to see the show with my sister so if anybody has any good suggestions since I'm unfamiliar with the area PMing me would be the easiest way although, I'll be trying to check this thread as well.
[edit] I'll surely be sneaking something in tho'

Having gone to ASU for a few years I would suggest you visitor's take a stroll down Mill Ave. Just head North up the road past University. There are a ton of fucking bars in this section of town. Each college town has a street like it. There are even a few cool head shops. ASU is known for the quality of it's women. A stroll up and down Mill ave. will certainly convince you of this.
^^^ Awesome...thanks man. I'll be with my lady, but I know the quality of women out there. That fucking sucks that there will be no alcohol! But, I guess its a good thing and I can save myself the $8 beers. Also...

no name or anyone else have a suggestion as to a good bar near Gammage? I really dont know whats on Mill Ave anymore. Its been years since I've walked it.
A few of the Tool Army guys were thinking of heading to a beer festival at Papago Brewing near 71st and McDowell, beer tents in the parking lot. Just a thought. Heres a link :http://www.papagobrewing.com/
There are a number of places within close distance of Gammage and in the tempe, depending on what you're looking for.
personally, my favorite bar in the area has always been Casey Moore's on 9th & ash (i believe). Great irish pub w/ good food. Papago brewing is an alright choice, but for my money I'd hit up Four Peaks if you're into good beer. Unfortunately the development has buried one of the seedier bars in the area (RIP 6 East)
BTW, for out of towners, the Twin Palms hotel on Apache is literally right across the street.

I'm row 5, technically, 8 rows from stage...
just to rub it in...MWUAHAHA.
Yeah well I'm row 16, not too bad either =-P

Casey's is supposedly haunted as well. At least when I was there it was a real cool bar w/ a decent patio and horseshoes out back. All the Irish staples and above average food. It's maybe a 10 minute walk from Gammage.
I just scored on the ticket! Unfortunatly I had to pay $355.00 to get it. But it is in the 13th row. Now I'm psyched! Plus Coachella this weekend. It's gonna be the funnest week of the year. lol.
It will also be better with seats I think. Hopefully, the people at this show will realize you only need to sit/stand to enjoy Tool...no moshing involved.
Yes, it will be very interesting to see how everyone reacts to the music. I can picture there being some guidance to the crowd as far as disorderly conduct is concerned. You all know how that shit can be at a tool concert. I do at least. haha.

Same here, I'd rather have a seat to call my own little space for the night. I've only see them live twice, once on the Ænima tour at of all places Phx Civic Plaza. That show people were trying to mosh, trying. I never had the urge to mosh at a Tool show. Then the last time was Lateralus at, then, Desert Sky. Had a seat for that one and was able to watch and listen in amazement, totally drawn in and taken away somewhere else...and I wasnt even high. Great memories.
I so cant wait to see them in a smaller place. The sound has got to be something else. Wonder what visuals they'll have, if any, seeing this is a warm up tour.
Seems like a few of you have awesome seats. Cool! I'll be up top, but I'm just happy to be going!!

I just checked this beer festival out...I'll definately be checking this out. When and who's all going?
