Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

I'm anxious for merch as well. Thankfully I'm not a poster collector so I don't have to worry too much about getting merch early. I guess I'll head to Hot House, see if I recognize any TDN peeps (if you see a chick with curly hair tied back, tanned skin, and a giant smile, that's me so feel free to wave me over) grab whatever I can get in my system then wait for doors. Also depends on the rain-y-ness.

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

102.1 just said the band is on at 7:30 sharp, doors open at 6:00. That's them talking, not me. Sharp.

I don't know if they'll come on at 7:30 or 7:45 or 8:00...I just know I'll be parked in my seat at 7:15. I read on the review threads the tales of poor sods who'd missed the first couple songs for whatever reasons.

Fuck. That.

22 hours and 44 minutes until the lights go down...

PLAN FOR MEETING AT THE HOT HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Ladies and Gents... in about 23 Hours from now we are to be blown away.
I will be at the Hot House at about 5:30 or so.

I will get a table outside if the weather looks nice, and hang Capt. Sith's seating chart from an obvious location, so that all can identify.
If the weather is crap, I will be by the bar with the same seating chart, displayed.

Is this OK?

I tried to go back in the thread to see how many people are meeting, does anyone have a clue? I am with 5 others.....
just would like to know what you think so I can steal/save some seats for everyone at the bar/patio.

Give me your guestemate on the number of people?
I say 12... but I could be way off!

If the band is on at 7:30 sharp then I don't see how I'll be able to make the Hot House get together. :(
I'll just make it for the show as it is.
Anyone going to go back there afterwards?

I'm leaving Ottawa in 8 hours (7am) time for bed.

IMPORTANT - At the Ottawa show in 2002, the crowd was NUTS, Maynard even said "Thank you for reminding us why we come to Canada" --> Let's be sure to welcome them back so that they keep booking gigs up here in the North! Be as fucking loud as you possibly can!!!

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

Wow, I am so excited for this show... I havent read any reviews so I dont know what to expect at all, which is exactly how I like it! To be honest, my expectations are surprisingly lower than usual just because I've convinced myself that nothing can top the ACC show in 2001, or the Hamilton 2002 show. But who am I kidding, we all know its gonna be unforgettable... Its a shame my mushroom plan fell through, maybe I'll meet someone there who can help me out. (wink)
Have a good show everyone, Im thinking this one will go down in history! If you see a dude with a Radiohead shirt on in the Orchestra section who looks like he could use a good trip then any assistance would be kindly appreciated!! haha its just too tempting i suppose. See you all there!! (Fingers crossed for Wings) - not likely i know but hey.

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

It does say on the tix - 'TUE MAY 16 2006 7:30' - Other threads all have them (the band) as starting at 8:15

If cfny is stating the band is ON at 7:30 sharp (that's interesting) door's open at 6:00 (Hmmmmm .....)

That may (should) move evry1's plans up (just 2 b safe)

I will b downtown all day, will b at the HH cafe - RAIN OR SHINE - around 5 (ish)
Will meet u then Calabi-Yau + whomever else makes it there before the show (depending on weather) inside/outside for ... I agree, a toast to the evening ahead!

Bino - Good plan, Ultimately I will b in my seat at 7:15

Want 2 check out the merch - Good swag could b gone by 6:30 (If doors open at 6) ppl could start lining up for the doors hrs. earlier

WOULD LIKE AS MANY TDN'ers 2 HAVE A KEEPSAKE AS WANT 1 (whether it b at HH b-for, in line to go in, inside (WILL B LOOKIN' FOR PPL) or after)

*see*u*auntie* - I will go to HH cafe after the show (hope I can speak)

We're gonna be meeting at the HotHouse around 5. They've got good food. A tad pricey, but not too bad. My favourite place to drink is actually across the road from the HotHouse, called C'est What? - its a nice bar/music club, and they serve an amazing selection of beers. But HotHouse will do well as a meeting place. Maybe we can go to C'est What? after the show... though I think myself and a few of my friends might be heading to the HotBox Cafe in Kensington Market.

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

Just saw Tool in Detroit it was awesome. First off as soon as the show started everyone stood up so don't plan on sitting. The show started kinda late cause nobody was in their seats at 8pm. The show started around 8:50pm. The visuals were cool and Maynard was funny. All in all great night. So to all of you lucky enough to get Toronto tickets have a good time.

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

Blake_Astro: Thanks, glad to hear the show went well.

Trancend: See you there! (Actually, there is a really cool Firkin Pub in that funky skinny old building accross the street from HH, is that place you speak of in that same location)

Capt. Sith: I think that the band will start at about 8:00, they would just like to see everyone ready to go before that magical time, but again, why take a chance, my ass is going to be parked in my seat (whereever they are, at 7:15 like you!) I can taste the golden ale already, it's 7:30am in Toronto, just woke up and I am already jonesen (sp) to get moving!

*see*you*auntie*: My group may go back after the show....for a nightcap!

systematic: have a safe trip on the slick roads on the way down! You may want to pop in to the Casino for a quick bet, cause today is gonna be a lucky one!

Shade: See you in the shadows!

and to Spoon: I was at the Ottawa show also, and you make a very good point. Tool loves Canada. So let us all give them a warm reception and a great vibe for them to feed from and feed us!

AHHH! My class ended early so now I'm hanging around downtown piddling my time away until TOOOOOOOOL. I'm glad I don't have to actually do anything today though. I'm distracted enough as is, I couldn't imagine working!!

Kapper, I'm with you on that white t-shirt. It looks awesome! I'm gonna have to decide whether to get the girl's one or that one, or maybe both! But if I have to choose one it'll probably be the white one because the girl's design doesn't have tour info on it *pout*

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

Undeniable dilemma. Boredom's not a burden anyone should bear. Constant over stimulation numbs me and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's not enough. I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive. Finger deep within the borderline. Show me that you love me and that we belong together. Relax, turn around and take my hand. I can help you change tired moments into pleasure. Say the word and we'll be well upon our way. Blend and balance pain and comfort deep within youtill you will not have me any other way. It's not enough. I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive. Knuckle deep inside the borderline. This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to. Relax. Slip away. Something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be. Desensitized to everything. What became of subtlety? How can it mean anything to me if I really don't feel anything at all? I'll keep digging till I feel something. Elbow deep inside the borderline. Show me that you love me and that we belong together. Shoulder deep within the borderline. Relax, turn around and take my hand.

Strapped down on my bed
Feet cold and eyes red
I'm out of my head
Am I alive? Am I dead?
Sunkist and Sudafed
Gyroscopes and infrared
Won't help, brain dead
Can't remember what they said
God damn, shit the bed

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

I hope you guys realize how anxious I am....
Very little sleep. Woke up...worked out while listening to Tool...shaved, showered....now just sitting here. (don't work today) Can't read, or even sit in one place for too long. haven't felt this nervous since opening night of some school thing I acted in years ago.

Gonna head down and be there by 630...hoping to at least get a poster, but trying to come to terms with the fact that I might not.

If they play Eulogy, i will absolutely lose it. At the open of that song (if they play it) look for the guy going nuts like the tasmanian devil...that'll be me.

Ok brothers and sisters....the church of Maynard opens in 8 or so hours

Re: 2006/05/16 - Toronto, CAN - Hummingbird Centre

It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch
You looked up at your sky
Then, that made blue be your color
You had your knife there with you too
When you stood up, there was goo all over your clothes
Your hands were sticky
You wiped them on your grass
So now your color was green
Oh lord, why did everything have to keep changing like this
You were allready getting nervous again
Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up
Your head was almost empty
It always hurt you when you woke up like this
You crawled up out of your ditch, onto your gravel road
And you began to walk, waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you
You could see the car parked far down the road, and you walked toward it
If God is our father he thought, then Satan must be our cousin
Why didn't anyone else understand these important things
When you got to your car, you tried all the doors
They were locked
It was a red car, and it was new
There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat
Out across your field, you could see two tiny people walking by your woods
You began to walk towards them
Now red was your color
And of course those little people out there, were yours too.

I promise you it was only a millisecond of a pout! I'm sitting here in the library looking like a freak cause I have a giant, and I'm sure somewhat pervy, perma-grin on my face.

I love that word Toolsday. It's so dorky but AWESOME cause I'M SEEING TOOL! I made it my MSN name so it's obviously best ever.

Man, I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaallllll freaking hyper.
