if you listen to this song at very, very unhealthy volumes (which i have been known to do ;) ) you will find that at the very, very end one of the band members, i dont know who, says "you fuckin bastards"

dear god i am a loser
Some of us have actually known about that since the album was released. ;)
Originally posted by Slave#1 When exactly can you hear this rant? I try it with my headphones...right as the last note is played, I turn it up all the way...
I had to use audio software to amplify the last bit approx 2000% so that it would be clearly audible.
I used creative wave studio (after recording the last five seconds of the song into a wav file) and applied a couple filters to it (hoping to push out a little of Maynard's voice) but they didn't work very well... I still had to increase the volume 16x and turn up my speakers pretty damn loud...
I e mailed kabir about this for the FAQ a loooooong time ago... anyways... i'm pretty sure its actually maynard to be honest, after all, he sufferef the most on this track did he not?
i say everyone buys some big ass headphones you know the ones you use in the studio and listen to every tool album with them.... i have heard most of these weird messages when i did buy the headphones. so yeah it's a good idea :)
I used a sound enginnering program with this one and did all sorts of weird things until it was clearly audible. I believe Danny actuarlly says 'Oh, you fucking bastards'......yes there is an Oh

I figured it was maynard that said that... considering recording that song fucked up his voice for 3 weeks. He was probbaly just hurting so much, that was the first thing out of his mouth
And i have no idea how people heard it originally. Seriously, with my discman turned up to max volume i can just about hear it... but if you were listening to the whole song on that volume, you'd be deaf by then anyway.
Maybe i just have sensitive ears...
edit: and you'll need to use some audiosoftware (see above) if you want to hear it clearly, CharcolFlame
.
