Many people believe that is when the supposed end of the world will happen, mayans predictied december 21 2012 was the end of the world. But i believe it is a time or somewhere around my lifetime the human race will realize the higher consciousness, or else the Universe will correct itself, cause the universe is one big organism, and it will fix itself, just like our bodies do when we have something wrong within it.
i am reading the mayan calendar and the transformation of cnosciousness by carl calleman
it is a very informative and interesting read
if you are interested in that stuff i would suggest reading work by Calleman or Jose Arguelles
thanks i will definitely look into that, right now i'm reading the cosmic landscape, have you ever read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn? It's very interesting, has an un-biased point of view on the consciousness of humans now and those that lived long ago. By the way did you see the second picture i just edited in to my first post?

you can also read about it in The Archaic Revival: Speculations on Psychedelic Mushrooms, the Amazon, Virtual Reality, UFOs, Evolution, Shamanism, the Rebirth of the Goddess, and the End of History By Terence Mckenna...

To me i see the earth. and then far away a light from somewhere deep in space, intrudes on the earth and purifies it. Saying, the universe will fix itself.

Re: WAKE UP 2012
How to hell did you get the blue colours happening? Was there some kind of filter on the lens? You got a black light and glow paint? Did you alter the photo's afterwards?

2012 is very possible scientifically, not necessarily religiously. It upsets me when people take 2012 as a sort of religious prophecy. On Dec 21/23 (forgot which date, but you get the jist), our solar system will be moving into the southern hemisphere of our galaxy. On these dates, our solar system will be perfectly aligned with the "equator" or center of the galaxy. Coincidentally, many planets are expected to be aligned and the Sun is epected to have the greatest magnetic pull in history.
a couple results include:
1.) The reverse of Earth's magnetic fields - resulting in the destruction of all electronic technology.
2.) The earths magnetic field will be stripped away by the sun = destruction of all life on earth.
and other unknown possibilities.
And if 2012 doesnt happen, 2032 = a collision with an asteroid.
Don't get me wrong with trying to make this into a religious prophecy, and get all heretic about it....... I am not a religious person at all, i look at this 2012 through a scientific point of view that our mere extinction is surprisingly likely to happen, or some sort of huge event that could change the human consciousness.
so, i hate to be the dick that shits on everyone's parade, but i really don't find these photos very impressive or interesting. It's just photoshop. yeah, sure, it's more than i could ever do with that program, but still. What WOULD be impressive is if he could achieve colors so vivid without digital manipulation.

Okay, thats your opinion.....you're entitled to it.

Ok, this is a very interesting point.
You're coming at this from a very technical perspective rather than aesthetic.
In Art, what is more valuable?
Sweat, or end-results?
This is a philosophical question that has no real answer in my opinion, and if there's any semblance of an answer, it lies in both.
If it's sweat you're looking for value in, then you should really enjoy dot paintings, or chainsaw carvings :)
If it's end results, then these digital manipulations hold quite a high value.
In either case of what you're looking for, just understand that it's always a balance.
Just because something takes two seconds to make dude, doesn't mean it's worth jack shit.
Cuz you and Andy Warhol and the US Mint are at odds :)

Andy Warhos was minimalist and simplistic, sure, but he was INNOVATIVE. It's not that his ideas were completely original, i'm sure people had done it before, but generally speaking he was the man who brought the style into the spotlight. Meticulous art and minimalist art both have their good and bad qualities, but their aesthetic value lies in creativity (once again, generally speaking). Technique can be learned, creativity can't. It's not that i'm calling this work uninspired, it simply does nothing for me. I have seen hundreds upon hundres of photoshopped eyes. It has lost its aesthetic appeal, it's initial charm.
okay have you even looked at any of my other pieces? Honestly I dont know why anyone has to be negative and arguing, its rediculous, so what if my work does nothing for you.....it does for me and lots of other people. I'm sorry it does nothing for you, then just keep on looking for something that does and please leave my thread.
EDIT: When i was typing this it didn't really come out how i wanted to say it, what i was implying was to say "If you can't just like crypto said be a little more constructive with your critique, than just slamming my artwork.
okay have you even looked at any of my other pieces?
Actually no, i had not until about 8 seconds ago. Kudos on overlooked occurences, though.

Is that really a claim you can make?
you cannot begin to comprehend how much time i spend on the internet (i have no life) but anywho, I will politely excuse myself from the thread at MayorofNecropolis' bequest.
I'm probably just bitter 'cause no one looks at MY art! lawl.
and on that note
adieu, adieu

Dude, it's free speech FFS. (Well, technically different here at TDN, but you get what I mean).....He can be here, just as much as the next guy.
Sure, he's a detractor of your work.
I simply posed that he should better qualify his critiques, that's all :)

Well, post your art links now that you mentioned it, slapnutz, so we can all see :)
Anyway, I understand what you mean about reoccurring memes.
How many eyes have I seen? Quite a few.
They are compelling subjects.
